Wow, Chelsea Clinton is quite something
This is NOT about politics, really. She's on live on MSNBC from an appearance in Milwaukee. Just by way of example, she's speaking about her mother's health care plan.

Poise and knowledge.

I can't recall ever having heard her speak more than a word or two before.

1. Never heard her spoke before
Not the most dynamic speaker, I think she is very new to this. Good that she is trying to help her mom. I liked when the Kerry kids hit the trail too. I think family can make good surrogates.

The fact that her heartfelt desire and willingness to help her mom was derided was total BS. Gee whiz. . .is it any wonder that she has inherently political instincts with those two parents?

16. I've never heard her speak before. Is she running for POTUS?
Sorry for the snark... I would really be interested in hearing her speak, outside her present role as supporting actress to her mother. But right now, I think it needs to be HRC making the headlines. Many states are feeling like they don't matter right now, and if the discourse of commentary here by HRCs own supporters isn't obvious enough - then sending her Daughter where she should be is. I heard HRC was speaking to a closed group of mostly out of staters in VA today. What's that all about?

I was reading away, happy that we could all agree on what seems to be a pretty non-controversial topic--that Chelsea seems like a smart, interesting young woman--but guess it's too much to leave a thread untainted by political bias.

18. Can you blame me?
Like I said, I'd love to hear her speak - outside of this political context. It's like they keep her sheltered away, and only let her out when it's beneficial to them. Will she bother doing these discussions when her mother's campaign is over?

28. Yes, we can blame you
The OP was trying to start a neutral, positive thread. It was a good OP and it's been generally a good thread except for a couple of posts, yours included. Michelle Obama isn't running for President, either. Nor Ted Kennedy or Jesse Jackson, Jr. But, they all have the right to campaign for Senator Obama. As does Chelsea Clinton.

Good grief.

They have destoyed a once cool board:

to speak for them. Why should she not be one? Your problem is that she is always a positive for HRC, with none of the burrs people use with Bill. Give it up and just give her her due. You will note, for the most part, Hillary mostly uses her family as surrogates.

P.S. Someone gave me a heart. Thanks so much. I thought it would be like school, when I never got one. I'm much more interesting and pretty now that I'm an elderly, white woman.

Seriously, thank you very much, whoever.

24. The Obama Supporters Are Just Dieing To Extend Their Attacks To Chelsea
They don't know how many people they are alienating...I have never pulled the Republican lever in twenty eight years of voting; not even for sheriff... My good friend voted for the Republican running for sherrif because he was his friend and even that was too much for me...

I'm in Florida... If the election was tomorrow I would vote against the God awful anti-gay marriage amendment on the ballot and leave the presidential choice blank... I have friends that feel the same way...

As much as some of the Clinton campaign behavior has left a bad taste in my mouth, seeing Chelsea reminds me of the things I liked about the Clintons, particularly Hillary. She seems to be a lovely young woman, in all senses of the word.
