Thanks, I needed a good laugh this morning. I doubt that's officially sanctioned, but maybe it is, I don't know. But somebody is obviously having a good time ribbing those who go on about Obama's "rock star" quality. Priceless.

31. I thought the add was fine.
Make no mistake about it, I'm an Obama guy. But I like to be fair.

It was geared to young people.

It was funny, and got attention.

In the end it delivered a valid political message. And it didn't try to slam anyone or throw dirt.

I thought it was pretty neat.

52. Well you guys, or gals are the judge...
I'm an old fart. I thought it was funny. I watched it at first and thought,,, is this some kind of joke? So I was locked in, because I wanted to know. Now, being locked in, I found the dialog humorous. I mean, those people really seemed to sweat that hillary left the band and then they launched into their "white person" mono-tone, rationalizations, ala "The Office". I laughed. In the end they where directed to a some Hillary selling points.

I don't think the ad was made to lock the deal, but to perhaps, open young minds that this lady might also have some sense of humor and for them to dig deeper.

But the add was directed to the youth and not me. You tell me you're not buying it, I'm not gonna argue. But you being on the DU puts you how many million miles ahead of most youth politically?

ANyways, if I was a betting man, as off-point as you might think this add was, that it was conceived, developed and produced my young folks.

ANyways, thanks for you comments and keep on truckin!

60. Sorry, disagree.
I'm 38 and I thought it was terminally lame. It's meant to be tongue in cheek but it's the kind of lame humor you use to sell something - cheeseburgers for example - rather than the kind that makes you laugh hard and want to join in. I tried it out on my 28-yo partner and the face she made was a lot funnier than the video.

for the sake of Balance, Obama's 'top ten' on David Letterman was also lame. Actually, I feel that way about Letterman in general, I guess I'm too much of a Leno guy!

I work in the film biz, where we have a saying: if you want to send a message, use western union. In other words, state your message directly to the viewer. If you want to amuse or entertain, then using it as a vehicle for conveying a message in most cases reduces your communication to a commercial. And people have mental filters for tuning out commercials, or we wouldn't be able to walk through a downtown without emptying our wallets every time.
