Did Obama win Maine on momentum?
I haven't see anyone talk about this. Did Obama win Maine on momentum? We all expected Maine to be strong for Hillary. In fact, she had a good chance to win. Obama scored the hat trick Saturday night. Do you think it helped him win/win big?

1. When people get to hear and meet Obama in person
They get their butts in gear and go vote for him. HRC does not inspire people to go out of their way to support her.

12. In the face of this kind of post, what do you do?
You know they are just about equal in every way, don't you? Oh gosh, I forgot you glitterbabies don't think anyone over 50 has any sense, and all of Hillary's supporters are the poor, which, BTW, Hillary is glad to welcome on board, along with her yuppie support. Just sayin'.

19. I'm fairly close to 50, so don't go calling me a "glitterbaby"
I grew up in a blue collar city that trends conservative in a liberal state. I just finished helping my Mom get govt fuel aid, and free care to help with the bills Medicare doesn't cover. So don't go prattling on to me about poor people. I come from poor people, and I live right next to poor people.

3. Largely, yes...
...the two "M's" are in his favor. Momentum and Money.

Look for him to increase his advantage in both tomorrow.

4. Was Maine a primary, or one of those Caucuses that we should ignore?

6. I think so....I really expected her to win it.
Or at least for the margin to be smaller. I was very surprised.

7. maybe, but Maine is also a independent minded state and very much anti-war
which helps Obama.

8. I really don't know. Was Maine a closed caucus.
Were only dems allowed? I thought I had read somewhere that it was.

My sister lives in Georgia, where, she says, pugs interfered with the vote as they did in the Cynthia McKinney race. I know there is likely some pug cross-over vote, but she is a republican of long standing and says that they are not crossovers based on the lack of a change of registration. She said she thought all caucuses and primaries should be closed. I agree. Of course, I do not believe pugs have any caucuses that are not closed.

So, it's really hard to tell. I certainly think he is gaining momentum and will cut into Hillary leads in a lot of states where she is thought to be dominating. I do wish, however, that we could tell what the pugs are doing.

11. Indies were allowed
But no republicans. Also, you couldn't change registration on the day of the caucus. Yuo could register on the day of.

14. I'm still trying to figure out what Obama asserts happened in LA,
and I live here. My husband is an indie, and he was not allowed to vote in the dem primary. We have a closed primary. But, I read somewhere that people said that their registration had been switched. Most everybody that controls the elections in this state are GOP. The dems have always suspected that and sometimes known that these votes are played with, but I don't remember any dems being accused of that.

I would love to know more, and, so far, I am not reading about it here. I don't take the BR or NO paper. Maybe there's something in those papers.

Please let me know, if any of you have more info. Thanks.

15. I saw that too.
I think we have major problems in LA for November. Someone is fucking with the voter registrations. The Democratic campaign should literally re-register every voter.

9. I am suspicious that people in Maine are sentient -- quite capable of thinking for themselves.

I refuse to believe that Maine is the only state in the Union where people are too stupid to make their own decisions.

Surely no one would suggest otherwise...
