I am worn down....(but I'm not dead yet)

.....I dunno......maybe because it seems to me that so much is at stake now. I honestly think that if we (the Democrats) don't reclaim the White House and do it right. ......I think the country may never recover.........in fact I think we will never recover much of what was anyway. So much has been lost and so much has been damaged......and so many we will never get back.

I'm not a naive person. I don't expect any politician or person to make it all better on his or her own.......or with a few well chosen words. It's going to take a hell of a lot of hard work, not just in America, but all around the world. If policy in the mid-east is not looked at and changed......and I'm not talking about the policy of the current administration, but the policy that has to a large extent been followed by every administration for several decades now....then nothing we do will be more than a band aid trying to cure an amputation.

But again I am rambling.......I am worn down. I don't feel the hope and the change coming. I know some of you will get upset as hell that I don't, but what can I say? I had hope when Bill Clinton took Office and for 8 years I felt pretty good.....but my hope was well tarnished by the relentless onslaught from the Right.....they took everything good and tried to slap it down or taint it....I still had hope when Gore went at them......and then I saw Florida slip away (or be stolen away)......and then 9/11 happened and I knew then that the world as we knew it would never be the same again......and to my horror...it was even worse than the fact that nearly 3000 Americans died that day.......the after-affects of 9/11 and the direction Bush took our country made me weep and cry out in anguish.......and then I saw Dean die a political death virtually overnight at the hands of the American Media........and then I saw Kerry swift boated and he grossly underestimated the Bush Machine.......and Ohio slipped away (or was it taken away?.....by then I didn't know what was up and what was down anymore).....and I think the last of my hope went then......the hope that it would all be made perfect again.

So when I don't jump on the bandwagon of hope and change......I have my reasons. I'm not young enough for the history of the past 16 years of relentless Republican attacks to be a blur of my halcyon days of youth. I'm not so old that they are dimmed by failing memories and time. I carry the last 16 years with me.....they are a part of me. They made me forget Utopia and forced me to be prepared to fight........and fight tooth and nail........for every single slice of the important things........healthcare for everyone, foreign policy that wasn't based on us kicking someone who got in our way to the curb and pissing off most of the world in the process, economic policy that was sound and reasoned instead of greedy favoritism of the rich.....social policies that made sure our children were fed, clothed and educated, there's more.......but I am tired.

I am tired of the relentless onslaught of being told how it's all our fault we fucked up for not just the past 8 years.......but the past 16 years. I'm tired of being told how horrible it was not just under Bush , but under Clinton too.......and I'm tired of people telling me that it's my fault because of the War in Iraq because I support Hillary Clinton.....forget the fact that I protested the best I could short of anarchy. I'm tired of watching the Democratic Party being torn apart from the inside (with a lot of outside help from the press I might add).......when people say they have to think about supporting the Democratic nominee if it's not their first choice.

Well god damn it all to hell. Kerry wasn't my first choice. Dean was. Yet I stood up and supported Kerry. .......and Clinton wasn't my first choice for the WH either.....Kucinich was.......but since I am not naive and I am ever pragmatic....I knew before early on that he never stood a chance. So I chose Hillary Clinton, over Edwards and Obama........and truth be told I like all three......but Clinton is who I think will fight the hardest for us. She is the person who I think will take us the farthest once elected. Please don't tell me it's time for a new Generation because baby.......Hillary and Obama are both MY Generation. We ain't dead yet and while I welcome everyone of every generation to share my world with me.......tired as I am of all the shit.....I will not lie down and give up ......I plan on fighting back for a few more years yet.

3. the war in iraq

can be blamed on dubya. for all the spouting off that goes on here about it being hillarys fault
the blame lies with bush and the neocons. kerry also supported the iwr and was mostly forgiven for it.
it's kinda funny that the newcomers to politics hate everything about the old guard democrats, it's easy to do that. obama has young admirers because he hasn't had to make many compromises yet. that will change should he hang on to win. then his supporters will turn on him like rabid dogs as he'll be the sellout candidate.
