I've heard it over and over. "I don't really like either candidate, but I feel that with Clinton you know what you're gonna get--4 more years of Clintonesque triangulating and parsing and politicking as usual. With Obama, there is at least a chance he might actually change something."

Does this describe you?

55. "The lesser of two evils" is
what my son said tonight when I talked to him on Kauai about the possibility of hilary and mccain.

Obama represents something tangible who offers real open government with its citizens involved and not just for show.

There aren't that many candidate like that and most of them lose the nomination to the establishment candidate. This could be historic.

5. well obama is a politician
his political life under a microscope shows that yes he is not perfect.

while he is young politically speaking he has not become inundated with centrist positions and has rejected attempts at dnc favor. this works will with obama for me. as a local politician he may do some shady things to benifit himself financially or politically, as a president i think he will no longer work on those terms.

while what we see with hillary is what we get.

6. Sadly, yes. Clinton is too DLC. Hoping BO will at least be more flexible
and adopt a more progressive stance. I don't feel like he is as "set in his ways" as Clinton.

Besides, too many years of the the same 2 families holding the POTUS position. Clintons & Bushes are too cozy for me.

18. I apologize for my state
As a native New Mexican, I must admit, we are idiots when it comes to voting, or rather when counting votes. This fact has been well documented for many, many years.

I'd like nothing better than to vote for a woman for president. I can't forgive Hillary for voting for the IWR. She could at least admit she made a mistake and I might consider voting for her. But, nope.

I voted Obama.

realized Kucinich wasn't going anywhere. As for Clinton, I have never liked her, but the way she handled her campaign truly convinced me she's not in this for us but for her. Plus her war vote put her out of the running for me.

For the first time in a long time, I'm seeing candidates I don't just dislike the least, but actually like. Barack Obama is one of those guys I genuinely like, for his positions on the issues, for his charisma, and his promise. I'm more than happy to lend him a hand with my votes and my donations.

I don't consider either of them evil, though Obama is certainly closer to what I want to see in a presidential candidate. You're right that I do think I know Clinton better and it's not a good thing for her. I've got no problem voting for her in the general election, but I can't see myself getting excited about her campaign like I am for Obama's.

26. Pretty much...
... look, I was as pro-HRC a couple years ago as I am anti-HRC now.

He refusal to commit to ending this stupid "war", and her vote for Kyl-Lieberman did it in for me.

There is almost no way Obama can be as bad as she is on the issues I care about. I'm not excited about him, but I strongly prefer him over HRC.

And I hope HRC has learned something - ABANDON YOUR BASE AT YOUR PERIL.

Had she simply NOT triangulated on the one issue she could actually afford to take a stand on, after all most Americans want out, she would be in the catbird seat right now. So much for her vaunted political instincts.

These 2 candidates will destroy the Dem party because either nomination will be extremely devisive. In that respect we're not much better than the GOP right wingers

I have never wholeheartedly voted for a president in ANY general election. And given the amount of control big money has on the political process, I don't think I ever will.

Until we get money out of the current system, our choices are going to be between a giant douche and a turd sandwich.

Here were the things that were on my mind when I voted against Clinton:

* NAFTA
* Welfare Deform
* the Telecommunications Act of 1996
* the "Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996"
* the Iraq economic sanctions that killed over 500,000 Iraqis (mostly children)
* the bombing of Iraq, Yugoslavia and Sudan during the 1990s
* Hillary's vote to authorize Bush's illegal attack on Iraq that has killed over one million Iraqis

At least Obama hasn't said he'd review which of b*s*/cheney's illegal powers to keep, which is of course itself an illegal violation of the separation of powers. Presidents don't pick their powers, but I guess Clinton didn't learn that basic part of the Constitution.

50. I don't "feel" it will happen.
I already saw in in real-time, live on TV, when she tried to parse Obama's statements about Reagan into something they weren't.

And again, when she tried to imply that Obama talking to her former advisors was a bad thing.

And the "snub" that wasn't, the leaked-to-the-press-but-actually-personal-outrage over the word "pimp", the sexism accusations, the inflated resume, the "slumlord" slam in response to him mentioning one her past "35 years of experience" jobs, the constant sniping, snarking..... it's like being stuck back in the 90's, and I'm not really interested in building a bridge *back* to the 20th century.

She keeps digging herself in deeper and deeper, flinging mud, and Obama deftly responds with wit, poise, and charm.

Hillary's a scrapper, heck of a good one at that, no question.

However, I'd rather have a Teflon(tm) coated scalpel than a wildly swinging axe when it comes to reforming our existing government. We've already seen what happens down that road. We've been on it for 16 years now, and personally I'm tired of stepping in turd blossoms.

For the record, I preferred Kucinich->Obama->Edwards, but only one is of those options is left.

Choosing has been a major chore and I will vote for the party's nominee in the general election with pride.

Poor GOP. The only half way decent hearted candidate they have isn't even a political leader, he is a minister who does not know anything about politics and he would be better off leading a movement than running for office. The rest of them are crooks and mass murderers.
