OH HELL NO! McCain just said he was "fired up and ready to go."
Did I really just hear that?

Keith Olbermann just made a good point: the rule should be to speak BEFORE Barack Obama, not after him. McCain was a real snoozefest.

1. I get the sense that McCain will be a terrible candidate.
He's going to explode at some point.

7. Oh, that's a given. The guy is a ticking bomb.
I just don't know if he's going to have a fit of temper or say something completely crazy.

11. He won't be boring. This is a guy who calls the press "jerks" and "putzes"
He's got quite the mouth on him.

And if he "explodes" it might actually MOTIVATE the GOP base. And the ass-scratching, blue collar indys.

He'll be "the guy they wanna have a beer with."

It's all about framing. If Obama wins, watch the media knock up that frame in a hurry. He will be framed as the orator who talks AT people, and McCain will be the regular guy who speaks in plain, declarative sentences.

9. But he had no emotion whatsoever when he uttered it.
I mean, I was watching him and thinking... is he human?

Of course then he went on to talk about how he was going to protect American and started beating his fist against the podium.

I can't wait till someone sets that temper of his off.

5. Did you hear Tweety say he "got a thrill up my leg" about Obama's speech? Am I now having auditory
hallucinations?

10. Did he say "thrill" or "tingle?"
I thought he said he got a tingle up his leg.

Ut-oh. Does Tweety have a new mancrush?

6. Everybody's gotta steal from Barack, because nobody else is as good as him.
Every other player on the stage loses to his oratory.

8. Doesn't he need some Viagra for that?
Oh that's Bob Dole. They're both so ancient and boring that I get them mixed up.
