Only 19 states left?
I saw a blip on one of the talking idiots shows that said Obama had won 21 states and Hillary had won 10? We still have 50 states, right? It's still anybodys election to win or lose. It is a very close election up to this point. It would not be wise to start popping champagne just yet, in my opinion.

1. You are correct. No one should be celebrating a win. It's not over.

19. I think Obama supporters should be allowed
to at least be happy for their candidate tonight. I'm not talking about being nasty towards Hillary supporters or rubbing that in their faces. I'm talking about being genuinely happy for their candidate and how his chancees are better. We know we still have a long way to go and that Hillary will not give up.

3. Obama has won 23 and there are 18 left. And he is about to win two more.
Edited on Wed Feb-13-08 12:23 AM by Quixote1818
The totals will then be 25 wins for Obama with only 16 to go. Not to mention stats like Mississippi, Wyoming, Guam, North Carolina, Oregon, Montana and South Dakota are practically locks for Obama. That will give him 32 wins at a minimum.

20. That would make it interesting.
Indiana is a strange case. There are a boatload of Republicans in the state, but the Democratic races are often completely unpredictable.

Robert F. Kennedy won the Indiana presidential primary in 1968. That seems almost unbelievable now, but it did happen.

7. Let's see....
http://politics.nytimes.com/election-guide/2008/results/demmap/index.html

Hawaii, Oregon, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, Texas, North Carolina, Mississippi, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Vermont, and Rhode Island have yet to vote.

That looks like 16 to me.

I think Hillary might have a chance in Texas, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Rhode Island. But it's going to be an uphill fight for each and every one.

Rhode Island, Ohio and Texas are in March, Pennsylvania is in April, and Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia are in May. Obama's going to have a bunch of wins before then, so we'll see which way it's going... if it goes that far.

10. Ohio - 17 year olds can vote in the primaries?
The Obama group in Dayton, Ohio references the fact that 17 year olds can vote in the primary if they will be 18 by the day of the GE:

18. I learned a long time ago...
to not count the chickens before they hatch. Also, circumstances can change with the wind and we cannot predict the future. Premature celebrations usually end badly. The candidate that get the 2025? delegates is the one who will win. Neither is really close to that number at this time.

22. I'm more concerned about counting 800 super delegates...
and the delegates from Florida and Michigan. Hillary won those states and will want to count them both in her totals. I fear this is where our nominee will be decided.
