Ladies and Gentlemen, we may have a nominee three weeks from today.
Unless Senator Clinton does almost impossibly well in Texas and Ohio, then the prohibitive lock on the delegate count goes to Senator Obama. Clinton campaign aides are saying that they'll take it to the convention and try to win using superdelegates, but I don't for a minute believe that the DNC and Howard Dean would allow this, or indeed that most of the superdelegates would stand for the idea.

Assuming that this really bad notion is reconsidered, we may well see the Clinton campaign decide in the absence of major wins on March 4th to close up shop.

This long campaign may be over in twenty one days.

1. That's an interesting thought...
What a relief it would be to have this mess over with so soon...

Then, of course, the real battle would begin...

2. The real battle, yes, but the fun one. Assuming that McCain survives it, I mean.
If the strain of campaigning against a landslide killed the old man, we'd feel a bit guilty.

3. Heh...
You might feel guilty!

Me? Not so much...

I mean, if he couldn't take the stress of campaigning, then how could he withstand the stress of being President?

4. It may not last even that long. You're just beginning to see
the snowball form.

It is going to get very, very large, very, very quickly.

25. You got it.
The pressure will get intense, and quickly.

This won't go to the convention. I don't see the DNC letting it happen.

Hillary supporters in the dirt?

Classy.

8. Obama supporters are happy. They're not rubbing your faces
in anything.

What they ARE doing is telling you the truth. It's time to start moving in that direction.

10. You're not rubbing my face in anything. I don't support
either candidate.

But you are absolutely rubbing the faces of Hillary supporters in something.

And your cocky attitude is very unflattering, considering Obama seems like he would disapprove of your arrogant tactics.

You're not going to get people to start doing shit with ultimatums.

11. Again, no. You're mistaking the truth for a slap in the face.
What are people supposed to do- LIE to protect the feelings of Clinton's supporters?

This thing is a hair from being over. How do YOU think Obama supporters should react, since you're so wise?

Personally, I think coping requires confronting reality.

16. You clearly are a stranger to the concept of class.
You are the football coach who wins, and jumps up in down and points at the opposing coach, instead of walking over and shaking his hand, and offering a compliment on how well his team played.

It has nothing to do with reality and everything to do with your behavior.

Nobody needs to hear you tell anyone when it time to cope or when it's time to confront reality.

They get to do that on their own terms, and most humans are offended when they're ordered to behave a certain way.

Obama supporters should react with class, to answer your question.

And I've seen very little of that.

19. Sorry, but this primary is a *process*.
And there aren't any timeouts. People have to actually deal with the things that are happening.

That is HOW we come to nominate the person who will be representing our party in the GE.

Your argument seems to be that no one should be mentioning- at all- the fact that Obama is going to win this. That's flat-out ridiculous.

Because, other than that, what exactly did the OP do that made you react in the way you did?

main point which is you can celebrate -- if that's what you so choose -- in a classy, non-arrogant manner.

And we all know that's not happening.

I'm not saying supporters shouldn't be allowed to talk about how Obama is looking like he's going to win.

But you should definitely not be pissing all over Clinton supporters in the process by demanding they abandon their candidate until she either withdraws or loses.

These are all poke in the eye provocative threads designed to infuriate.

Come on dude, stop acting so mystified.

You guys aren't fooling anyone. Certainly not me.

I guess you didn't read the posts of some of the "mature" ones last night.
I guess just run with that warm and fuzzy feeling, eh? Don't fight it? :sarcasm:

9. They don't realize how much damage they are doing
I can't imagine Obama himself being in on some of this crap. I think if he saw it, he'd want to open a vein.

But that's politics. And we have an election to win, whoever the candidate is.

keep me from voting for the nominee, if it happens to be Obama.

Fortunately, they mean nothing to me, including their opinions.

Obama clinches the nomination. That is, if he does.

If there are people who are magnanimous in victory around here, they're hard to find.

21. What's amazing is that the Clintons might even consider trying to
muscle the nomination from Obama if he is otherwise the winner in pledged delegates and popular votes. Even knowing that it would do long term and irreparable harm to the party if that happened. Not to mention, it would cause her to lose the general election.
