Breaking: Hillary Campaign Agrees To NBC Debate
By Greg Sargent - February 13, 2008, 12:09PM

The Clinton campaign has just confirmed to me that contrary to expectations, she will in fact be taking part in the NBC debate in Ohio on Feb. 26th, after all.

The question of whether she'd participate was still up in the air this morning, but the decision to participate has now been made by the campaign.

The campaign had threatened to boycott all future NBC debates after MSNBC's David Shuster made his now-notorious "pimp" comment about Chelsea.

But the Clinton campaign has been clamoring for more and more debates with Obama, and given their need for head-to-head matchups, particularly in a key state like Ohio, holding out against the coming NBC debate was less and less tenable. So now she'll be participating.

5. No, I don't believe the Fox one was approved by both sides. There are two
on NBC.

17. Thanks!
I know Hillary agreed to do at least one on Fox - Chris Wallace announced that on TDS. I was hoping Obama would say no which he apparently has.

4. Obama will win this debate hands down if she goes negative.
He has already grabbed the key issues as his own, Iraq war, NAFTA, healthcare. I believe he will be the next Dem nominee and we will lose the WH once again. I hope i am wrong, but I don't see it anyother way.

10. And how do you figure with Obama as the nominee we will loose the WH?
McCain has one issue, and one issue only; WAR and that ain't going to fly with the American people.

8. The need for free airtime vs defending Chelsea's honor
Interesting how that challenge worked out.

16. Hell, she knew all along it wasn't about Chelsea's honor --
the statement was about HILLARY'S actions - suggesting that SHE was pimping out her daughter. It was NEVER an attack on Chelsea - it was about Hillary. She was just playing for sympathy, as a political tactic. Now, it's over, and she moves to the next round.

15. Yes he does and it's so nice of Sen, Clinton to help him out with that.
Imagine how well he'll do in the general debates against McCain now! :)
