If Clinton doesn't Win Ohio, is it over?
If so, that is her current strategy's weakest point.

2. Not Necessarily but it is EXTREMELY Bleak.....Superdelegates will JUMP to Obama en-masse
Edited on Wed Feb-13-08 02:07 PM by quantass
because Obama then has taken a state that she was claiming to be strongest at....this would indicate with absolute certainity that the Obama-mania is steam rolling through everything in its path...

The same scenerio applies if she only wins by small margins....she has to not only win these 3 major states (or 2 at the very least) but win VERY BIG...if she doesnt, then she has lost the war, hands down.

4. It will be effectively over as far as winning based on pledged delegates
But the Hillary campaign still hopes to cash in on the favors they believe many SD's owe Bill from the 90's to win through the good old boy network approach of tilting the nomination to Hillary by getting them to vote for her.

8. ...Her Influence on SD's would be weakened -- for the greater good of the party
She may have favors with them but i'd think it be a risk for them to go with Clinton after Obama has captured a sizeable delgate count ... the party would risk losing the war against the Repubs if many democrats feel disenfranchised.

5. Yes, absolutely.
She needs to win Ohio AND Texas to stop the momentum and to be able to make a case for her continuing on.

7. She's currently 19 points ahead/ if she wins by 10 it is still bad sign for her.

9. True... a win for her doesn't mean she is in the clear -- she might still be the Loser!
I am not sure the exact #s but she can't just win OH, she has to really have a large margin of victory. Looking at Obama's pattern of narrowing leads and overtaking them in time i find it hard to imagine she can do this, especially after this expected 10 straight losing streak.

12. If she doesn't win at least 60% of the vote in Ohio and Texas...
It's all over.

13. The numbers say yes.
She got punk'd yesterday in Virginia, Maryland and DC, and she'll likely get schooled again next week in Wisconsin and Hawaii.

The delegate numbers suggest that she'd have to get substantial wins (as in at least 60%-40%, probably more, not 51%-49%) in both Texas and Ohio to stay in the race. If she can't pull that off, she's done.
