MY STATE'S PRIMARY WON'T COUNT BCAUSE ITS IN MAY
When we hear about the Clinton campaign asking for the delegates from Michigan and Florida,
when Dean says they hope to have the primary wrapped up in a few weeks, then I have to say:

WHAT ABOUT MY STATE??????

DONT OUR VOTES COUNT TOO?

2. North Carolina
and I'm just saying - if people can insist that the Fl and MI primaries count
without a do-over,

and if the primary must be done in a few weeks or so,

then MY VOTE DOESN'T COUNT - AGAIN!

I doubt that they will count. Hopefully this mess will be decided by then.

8. will NC's votes count less than FL or PA who want special treatment?
North Carolina followed the rules.

Will our votes count less than those states who deliberately broke the rules?

5. Don't be so sure
The way things are going every last vote will count. This might not be over until the convention.

12. California's primary used to be in June. Here we were like a big ole lump just waiting for
the opportunity to say "me too" to the already declared nominee or "hell no and I'm voting for that former exotic dancer from La Brea instead, just because." ;)

The party seems to be getting a bit freaked. But the way things are going, you might still have a chance to have your say before the campaigns are ended.

18. good point
And the D leadership in CA could have said, screw all you other states, we have 30 million people in our state, we are 11% of the delegates! But they played fair, they didn't go ahead of the party, and everything worked out fine.

Look where Florida and Michigan would have been if they kept their primaries. They would have been one of the most important states.

13. That is why a rotating schedule is needed, regional or multi-state.....
Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 01:52 AM by DB1
Set up a regimen where one year Iowa is first, next it is last and works it way back to first. If Iowa wants to join in a group with other states it may, but based on greenhouse gas emission of jet fuel we should cluster state primaries and caucuses so the candidates don't have to criss-cross the country.

16. Thank you! I too am from NC and have been very frustrated!
My mom was actually excited at the idea that our votes might matter this time around. Alas, Dean says that if it lasts into mid March then he will pull the candidates aside and force them to come to a compromise.
