Democrats = Charlie Brown, Republicans = Lucy
Any thoughts?

A few thoughts to get us started...

When Democrats threaten to filibuster under R dominated Senate, Dems are attacked and cave. When Repubs threaten to filibuster under D majority Senate, Republicans bluster and Dems cave.

When R's want something, D's try to negotiate and compromise. When D's want something, R's refuse to compromise, stonewall and go on the attack.

How many times have we seen this pattern?

How many times does Lucy have to move the damned football and Charlie Brown fall on his ass before the D's get hit by the clue bus.

Most of the compromises Former President Clinton is pilloried on DU for not being liberal enough were compromises made with the R's to get at least part of an agenda passed.

Like I said, how many times do we need to fall on our asses before we get it? And each time Lucy is sorry, Charlie Brown falls for it and then yet again she moves the damned football leaving Charlie Brown broken and looking like a fool.

5. Exactly!
Which is what made me think of this. Every single time someone says we have to work with the republicans, I see Charlie Brown on his ass after Lucy moves the damned football again.

The Dems ALWAYS try to work with the R's -- it's the R's who shove a boot up our asses and laugh about it!

It won't work, it will just end up with the R's getting their agenda passed even though they are in the minority.

We don't need a compromiser, we need a fighter.

But I guess the feel good words of unity appeal more than the knowledge we're going to have to fight to the last (wo)man to get any kind of agenda passed.

2. Dems have to start putting better candidates in office.
Harry Reid has pissed me off one to many times and this shadow dance he just did with FISA puts him at the top of my list of Dems who need to be replaced.

3. It just happened again
Charlie Brown, Lucy is always going to pull that football, no matter how many times you have faith that you can work with her.
