I miss John Kerry. John Kerry Appreciation thread.
Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 01:50 PM by Kerry2008
Everyone remembers the election and the candidate that inspired them, and turned them into political junkies. Whether it was Gary Hart. Bill Clinton. Bobby Kennedy. Or whom ever.

For me, that candidate was Senator John Kerry who I originally got behind in 2003.

I watched and supported the campaign through the up's and the down's, the rough patches and the victories! It was truly one of the most memorable things I'll carry through out my life time, and I was proud to support John in 2004.

I know he gets a lot of heat for the 2004 election. And some heat for endorsing Obama.

But he's truly one of the best Senators we've got, an incredible and remarkable Democratic leader, and he helped build a campaign in 2004 that brought in more Democrats and more money to bring about change than any in history!

So I say: Thank you, John!!

And I forgive you for endorsing Obama ;)

I'll be a Kerrycrat for life!!

6. I appreciate the man who exposed more government corruption of BushInc than any lawmaker in history
Sen. John Kerry.

And THAT is why the DC powerstructure worked hard to keep him OUT of the WH with access to documents he always wanted open to the public.

11. How would you feel about Kerry being AG, if Obama wins?
I think he would be phenomenal.

15. Kerry with ACCESS to all the documents in BCCI, CIA drugrunning and IranContra? GREAT
and I would hope he wears a bulletproof vest everywhere until the news organizations and historians have the chance to publish the full story.

25. Yep, that was my thinking as well.
He knows where all the dirt that got swept under the Oval Office rug, during Clinton's term and more was added after he left office.

If he didn't get interference from the Elders, I think he would kick butt.

Not sure if the vest would help, if "they" wanted to off him "they" would find a way.

Wow, I :loveya: Kerry

26. I found this NYT editorial from 1993 to post in another thread...check it out
The last two paragraphs jumped out at me - especially knowing that Bill Clinton didn't even mention BCCI in his book.

The End of the B.C.C.I. Case?

Published: August 19, 1993

rs.

To his
>>>>>>

The verdict confirms that however much B.C.C.I. sought a foothold in American banking, its major criminal mischief in the form of drug financing, money laundering and banking fraud occurred abroad. That's where most of the victims, depositors and shareholders in a $12 billion bust reside, and where several nations must continue to search for wrongdoers. To his credit, Mr. Morgenthau prodded investigators in Congress and the Justice Department to inquire into B.C.C.I.'s alleged control of First American Bank, once the largest bank in the nation's capital. Seeing a basis for alleging a scheme to defraud New York State bank regulators, he brought more far-reaching charges than the Justice Department did and took the charges to trial first.

Unlike the Federal grand jury, Mr. Morgenthau added a questionable charge of bribery. Mr. Clifford and Mr. Altman, officers and lawyers for First American, made millions by purchasing stock in their bank with money loaned by B.C.C.I. It was a greedy transaction, but was it a bribe? The trial judge said there wasn't enough evidence even to submit that charge to the jury.

In earlier testimony before a Senate investigating committee, Mr. Clifford and Mr. Altman said they had naively assured Federal regulators that First American was free of B.C.C.I.'s control. They said they had been duped about the international bank's illegal activities. Intentionally or not -- and intent matters a lot -- they were highly compensated for putting their own reputations on the line for B.C.C.I. The jury verdict found no crime -- either because there was insufficient proof of B.C.C.I. control, or insufficient proof of intent to mislead, or both.

The acquittal may prompt the Justice Department to abandon any plans it may have had to prosecute its own case. That would extricate both men from criminal liability, though not from pending civil lawsuits -- including one from the Federal Reserve Board, which insists that it was deceived about B.C.C.I.'s role in American Bankshares. Mr. Morgenthau, meanwhile, still hopes to bring B.C.C.I.'s overseas leaders to trial in New York.

Perhaps other investigations at home and abroad will bring more telling evidence to the surface. Even though the New York inquiry hit an embarrassing snag, it is much too soon for the Justice Department to walk away from the unanswered questions -- including why Justice itself failed for years to help Mr. Morgenthau and Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts in their efforts to expose B.C.C.I.'s corruption.

28. Well Billbo had a lot of people to protect, and it certainly wasn't the American Citizens
I guess you probably already know this, but Lee Hamilton help to squash the investigations going any further, after Rep. Cheney asked him to, this was around the time Poppy was pResident, after Dick's intervention Poppy awarded him the Sec. of Defense.

Got to protect the criminals in our government, while they run drugs into our country, and then arrest the drug users to fill up the privatized prisons that were starting to sprout up like mushrooms all over the country.

Meanwhile they're arming the world, which gives them cover to always have a war to fight.

Bat Shit Crazy MoFo's.

I hope I made sense, if not then I blame it on the lack of sleep, which I think I'll take a nap.

But BCCI is still the motherlode when it comes to understanding the Fascist Agenda of today.

17. K&R For John Kerry.
He is the reason I am involved in politics - and I was heartbroken when he "lost" in 2004.
I don't know if I can forgive him for his endorsement - but I still respect him and thank him for his service.
