"It takes a Clinton to Clean Up after a Bush - Like it did the first time!!!"
Seriously.

How many DUers - even Clinton supporters - CRINGE when they hear Mrs. Clinton use this line?

Can the Clinton's really think they will win against McCain on a slogan of "Cleaning up Washington?!?"

Since the invitation to bring back every scandal is implicit - is there ANYBODY on DU who does not think Hillary should drop this
line in a heartbeat?!?

1. Not a good idea to highlight the Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton pattern, at any rate...
Even some Clinton supporters I'm related to are troubled by that.

Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 08:01 PM by sloppyjoe25s
at a minimum that... but to highlight "cleaning up Washington"

do they have even a CLUE how average Americans perceive the Clintons on Ethics?

Now compare that to how the average American perceives John McCain on Ethics?

If you are not scared, you haven't been paying attention.

2. More like "to protect".
Junior will end up on the scot-free tip just like Bill's golf buddy Poppy did with Madam Windsock at the wheel.

Seems to me he went out of his way NOT to really dig into what Bush 41 did ...

8. The White House needed Steam Cleaning
After Mr. and Mrs. Clinton left.

Real average Americans just remember all of the scandals. Monica is only the tip of the iceberg.

Rightly or wrongly. It is paramount in the public consciousness. Especially independents.

23. Yep - swept all the outstanding matters of IranContra, BCCI and CIA drugrunning under the WH rugs
for Poppy Bush.

Bill clinton had the deceitfulness to not even mention BCCI or CIA Drugrunning in his book.

7. how about the dumb line that Obama is stronger on National Security!
because he wasn't elected to the senate when IWR was voted on!

Yes, I trust Hillary and am not "willing to take my chances" on Obama like the kool-aid drinkers on here!

Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 08:10 PM by sloppyjoe25s
ever though of taking up reading?... it's more fun than you might think.

The question is - is "Cleaning Up Washington" a good line for Mr. and Mrs. Clinton. to run on.

18. I have never "though" of taking up reading!
but I do read and graduated the top of my class with a 4.0 in college... double-major and a masters... hahahahaha

How about the slogan Obamanites have...

"I am willing to take a chance on Obama." Now that is confident! and we need a person we can take a chance on to clean up after Bush... take a chance...

But with their taste for corporate consolidation, I figured they'd all be one giant corporation by the end of it anyways.

30. It depends on who wears the dress
Seriously, I expect the Clintons to do nothing with the crimes
of this regime since they are involved on covering up Poppy.

OBama, maybe, if it is really ground up and we get a good AG,
we might have chance but I'm a optimistic realistic that has
been living in this dystopia for too long.

Hillary uses a lot of 'I' s in her speeches and Obama uses a lot of 'We' s.

I tell you, as a X union organizer and carpenter, in order to get things done
on the job or with improving the work site.
you need to drop the I, and use the we, or you are just a boss.

I dropped that crap in my twenties,
