SHAT! MOTHASUCKA! Obama's gonna lose
his underdog status if he hasn't already. The guy spells trouble for Hillary and McCain and anyone in his way. He isn't just a politician and an orator. He is the iconic change we have all been waiting for.

I didn't think that much about Obama a year ago. I was supporting Edwards. However, now my wife and I have both donated to his campaign. I bought the audiobook version of "Audacity of Hope". He's on a 9 state winning streak and has a very real chance to win not only Wisconsin but also Ohio and even Texas.

I heard on the radio today that McCain's chief campaign guy has said he'd quit the McCain campaign if Obama is the opponent. Why? I think it's because McCain demonic allies will bring in the most downgrading, horrible shit about race and all types of things that we cannot even imagine.

The difference this year? THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE SICK OF THIS GODDAM BULLSHIT! They don't want mudslinging and negativity. They don't want a bloated, puffy flipflopping old guy attacking a hero.

I want you Hillary supporters to understand one thing--I would have voted for Hillary had she won the nomination, but she's not going to. Even if she and Bill have stupid plans to bring Florida and Michigan into play....it won't matter. Obama is the chosen one. Get that through your heads. Obama will be our president and will surround himselves with an expert and intelligent cross section of leaders to set and implement policies that undo the damage of the Bush years and make progress for us as Americans.

Vote OBAMA! Vote OBAMA! Voe OBAMA!

I introduce to you our first African American president, Barack Obama!

I am kind of talking over the top because you people don't understand how important it is that we aren't subjected to the false choice of two corporatists Clinton and McCain. I will puke if that's the choice we're left with.

What is more..................I will have to think long and hard about whether or not I will vote for her.

We NEED a break fro the stupid shit we've been putting up with since Nixon. No president has valued progressive ideals since the 1960's. Don't you even get it? Hillary won't.

there are just some that think that progress means electing the wife of the last Democratic President.....who's 35 years of experience made her not be able to prepared for a political campaign....and vote for a war that we didn't have to fight.

So, yes,

SOME people just don't understand the beauty of this here....

But I'm sure that there were people that voted against FDR, JFK and even Lincoln.
I'm mean, they didn't 100% support either.

Dem the breaks!

Is Hillary Inevitable?

Pundits have pretty well conceded the Democratic nomination to Hillary Clinton. In a basic sense, this is a reversal of recent history. Over the last few decades, it is the Republicans who have loyally nominated the heir apparent, the guy whose "turn" it was, even when--as when the GOP nominated Bob Dole in 1996--it was clear that he had little or no chance to win. The Democrats, on the other hand, have been willing to nominate candidates who started out as "second tier," if they like the way they perform in the early going. Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton are good examples. Now that we all know what a skillful politician Clinton is, it is hard to remember that when the Democrats nominated him in 1992, it was almost exactly the same as if the Republicans were to nominate Mike Huckabee next year.
http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2007/09/018580.php

The Democratic New York senator has worked hard to get to this point, a position that has its advantages. A presumptive winner in the primaries commands campaign dollars and media attention (though the latter can be a mixed blessing). This necessarily weakens competitors, who are then forced to spend less time promoting themselves and more time trying to knock out the frontrunner (another mixed blessing).

Historically, the early leader usually bags the nomination, though there may be some stumbles along the way. That's why a string of candidates – both Bushes, Al Gore, Bob Dole, and Walter Mondale, to name a few – worked to create the perception of presumed nominee.

When Senator Clinton took the usually slow summer fundraising season and turned it into a record-setting clam rake, when she appeared on five Sunday talk shows in one morning last month, when even President Bush spoke of her as the one to beat – then she must have known she was wearing that invisible crown of inevitability.

Clinton outpaces Obama in fundraising for third quarter

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton raised $27 million in the third quarter for her 2008 Democratic bid for the White House, a Clinton aide said Tuesday.

All but $5 million of Clinton's funds can be spent trying to win the Democratic presidential nomination in the primaries, the aide said.

More than 100,000 new donors contributed to the New York Democrat, the aide said.

Clinton outpaced Sen. Barack Obama over the last three months, a reversal of positions from the second quarter.

Hillary says she’ll be Democratic nominee by Feb 5th
December 13, 2007
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is anticipating that she will not have to wait long to become the Democratic presidential nominee, privately telling campaign donors in California that the race "is all going to be over by Feb. 5."

Though the focus of the 2008 presidential campaign is on Iowa and New Hampshire, the states with the earliest contests, Clinton suggested that California's influence might be larger than was commonly believed.

"You've got to realize that people in California will start voting absentee about the time Iowa and New Hampshire happen," the senator from New York said at a closed-door fundraising reception Tuesday evening. "In fact, more people will have voted absentee by the middle of January than will have voted in New Hampshire, Iowa and a lot of other places combined."

On Friday, California absentee ballots began going out to members of the military and others living abroad.

California's remaining absentee ballots will be sent out beginning Jan. 7, one day before the New Hampshire primary and four days after the Iowa precinct caucuses.

California holds its primary Feb. 5, along with 21 other states and American Samoa.

"California, Texas, New York, New Jersey — you've got way more than half the country," Clinton said at the fundraising event at a Sacramento restaurant. "And we're going to be ready, thanks to all of you. We're running a vigorous campaign here in California."

Voters in 22 states will vote after Feb. 5, as will those in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Guam.

The fundraising reception was closed to the news media, but an audio recording of Clinton's speech was made available to the Los Angeles Times.

And they want to go into the 21st century without baggage either. Maybe they want to get back to real news made by a real Presidents of an actual United States. Maybe they feel guilty for starting this war without end, and this is their way of making it up to the American people.

Hillary will merely treat it as business as usual and start writing checks to her supporters if she were sworn in. We know that. which is why she's done.

The ones usually spouting that the most are the ones who stand to lose the most if that excitement among the people continues. So no surprise Hillary followers and some of the "old guard" Democratic wing are chief attackers of Obama and his followers as too messianic.

Maybe what this country needs is someone to look up to again. Maybe people need to quit acting like Obama has no one to turn to in helping him wade through the difficult issues of the presidency.

I'm excited for Obama. And I hope our party doesn't implode due to some people not being able to deal with reality about our preference for Obama.

That's my greatest fear is the Clinton cabal "going for it" 2000 Supreme Court style by having the Michigan/Florida delegates brought back into the picture through technicalities. It would just show the forces of status quo are dragging people's hope and positive excitement for leadership back down into the muddy mire.

then she and I met up after her evening class for a nice meal at a rustic European bistro...exchanged cards, etc. Then went home poured a couple of glasses of wine. Decided to polish of the wine....got "the spirit" and logged on to post this orginal post.

67. Oh indeed. b/f and I had champagne and then gin and tonics.
Luckily I kept my itchy blogging fingers to myself. Posting While Intoxicated has never worked out that well for me! ;)

66. ewww. what a sad person if that's how they really feel
more likely they are trotting out any and every line of reasoning to convince us we shouldn't be for change.

I suppose parents aren't supposed to hope their efforts at raising and educating their child will work out.

I suppose job seekers shouldn't hope when they prepared and executed well in the interview.

Hope if it is based on something can be a positive and powerful thing.

Looking at what Obama is doing right now and what he started doing as soon as he got into pubic service and then contrasting that with the others in the running....there's every reason to hope he can be at least part of an answer to our current woes.

68. I kid you not
You know why America is ready for a black president? Because America has seen a black president on tv many times ( the show 24, and others) and is desensitized. And it helps a lot that Obama is biracial and not perceived as all black by many. Sorry, but that's the truth.
