eBay: an indicator of political trends
Edited on Fri Feb-15-08 06:23 PM by Neecy
Out of curiousity, I did a search on eBay of both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. After a quick perusal of the search results of both, I have a few observations:

-The Obama stuff has more variety, more humor, more creativity and more bidders. This one was my favorite:

-Signed books by Obama are going for big bucks, especially first editions.

-The Hillary stuff is hardly moving, and you have to weed through a lot of "Bill and Hillary toilet paper" and other crude items to get to her campaign stuff. An occasional bid. Some of it, admittedly, also shows some creativity. But Obama wins the bidding war hands down - where she'll have 1 bid or occasionally 2 for an item, many of his have multiple bids (x10). Of course, I think the back order status on his online store has a lot to do with this - but his stuff is selling, while the Hillary stuff is languishing on the virtual shelves.

For what it's worth (I know not much).

3. I just checked
I should have included him in my original search.

He's doing slightly better than Hillary - he still has a lot of stuff that doesn't have any bids, but his stuff at least is getting some multiple bidding action - some of it. His autographed stuff, though, isn't pulling any dollars.

2. www.obamarecycle.com
Another place to get Obama stuff, or recycle your stuff if you're primary has passed.
