I was in Tyler today. Clinton did NOT bash Obama
Edited on Sat Feb-16-08 12:13 AM by Horse with no Name
In fact, was very complimentary of ALL of the candidates and mentioned each and their contributions to the process.
The comment that was taken TOTALLY out of context...Clinton was talking about HIS administration and the successes of the 90's.
He was talking about that everyone(not specifically about Obama but her political enemies)always wanted to mention the shortcomings of the 90's but not about the successes. He talked about his administration. He was NOT talking about whatever the hell Obama was--or was not--doing in the 90's.
ABC put out a hit piece that was taken totally out of context.
There was not ONE negative bash towards Obama during the entire speech. It was all positive and it was all about Hillary.

On edit wanted to mention one thing:
When he was talking about Edwards and his contributions--the crowd roared.:)

1. One note
I didn't take the Clinton remark to be anything negative about what Obama was doing in the 90's.

13. Jake Tapper also was one of the first to go on the Cult Brigade against Obama people
Seems to me like he just likes to stir up shit.

2. I agree, it was a little hint at him being inexperienced but not a "bash"

3. Hard for some to believe
But no he was not.
There was not a SINGLE derogatory comment during the entire speech about Obama or his experience--or lack of.

7. I thought the remark in question
Edited on Sat Feb-16-08 12:37 AM by crispini
was certainly not the wild-eyed harsh attack everyone is making it out to be. Honestly. The man was making a point, not showering down fire and brimstone on Obama. And he certainly said plenty of nice things about Obama.

8. Crispini was there too
Was GREAT meeting another DU'er. She is an amazing lady--in fact...I will brag on her, Clinton went into the specifics of the way our state has a Primary AND a caucus and some of the folks didn't know and didn't understand and he wanted to make everyone aware of it.
Crispini was explaining it to a lady that asked when he said that--then after he was done speaking, a couple of other ladies came and asked her how it worked and she patiently explained to them.
It was awesome!

15. Tyler is a nice place. I don't like the dry county part though.
Until I visited Tyler (I live in Socal), I didn't even know there were dry counties. There is also this one spot where there are about 6 Baptist churches side-by-side. A lot of competition amongst the Baptists. One of my siblings owns lakeside property on Lake Palestine in Eagle Bluffs. Beautiful views.

17. I've only been in Tyler a couple times, thought it was pretty country.
I lived in Virginia many years ago, I'd almost forgotten about dry counties. :)

There is beauty in every state.

21. Rest assured I sent an email to him
and told him for journalistic integrity he needed to get the ENTIRE tape--not the transcript, and watch it himself.
I expect him to do that AND I expect an apology shortly after he does.

22. Oh Gee. The Dallas Morning News agreed with me. Headline today:
"Bill Clinton avoids attacks on Obama in East Texas"

Read it and weep. Obama supporters have been punked by ABC.
