Hillbot, Obamaloser, seriously - this is how you point / counter-point?

(Allow me to preface this message by saying I am a strong Obama supporter. If Hillary is our nominee I will gladly campaign for, donate to, and vote for her in the G.E.)

Why does it seem like every damn anti-whoever thread I read has words that sound more like they should come out of the mouth of a 6th grader than an adult? Attack the MESSAGE - not the messenger. I don't know how anyone finds satisfaction (besides possibly stroking their own ego) to use insulting words to slam a candidate's supporter(s).

Here's why I think Obama will win. He's got the momentum. He has this certain 'it factor' that you don't see often - but, when you do (and I'm NOT saying its rational behavior that makes people do this), people flock to it. That 'it' factor is what is going to drive him to the presidency. So, since I can see that almost certain inevitability - I'm doing my best to check out his stance on issues.. to see what he thinks that lines up with what I think. For me, he 'works' as my candidate. However, you don't see me here shouting "Loser Hillbots, you're going down!!" - This place seems more like a high school football game sidelines sometimes than a locale for intelligent candidate discussion and discourse.

I won't lie - I don't really 'like' Hillary that much. That's probably also an irrational thing - because, outside of TV and some speeches of hers I've read, I don't even 'know' her. However, I'm not about to insult the Woman. Its impossible to deny that she has had an overall positive effect on this country during her time in the senate - guess what, its impossible to deny Obama has, too. See the point?

You've got two great candidates - one who I prefer - one who some other prefer. Excellent - lets argue the merits all day and all night. Lets not break it down to 'mom jokes' which is what I fear is coming next.

edited because apparently my using 'girl' is considered insulting - sorry about that. No bad intentions, I can assure you.

3. Who is you?
All of us. The Democratic party. You know, the party that the majority of us support because we're tired of the right wing basically making this world less safe and less fun? (Yes, I know 'fun' is subjective - but sorry, I find most Republicans / Conservatives to be serious party pooper type of people)

If you're going to use the argument that you won't vote for 'x' if 'x' is the candidate of our party - then oh well. Its you and you alone who are mathematically affecting the chances of our parties candidate to win the General Election. Keep that in mind.

2. Thank you
I have never, ever, referred to Obama supporters as anything other than Obama supporters. And goddammit, I would like the same courtesy. I roll my eyes reading this grade school crap.

I'm a Hillary supporter. And I'll vote for Obama in the general election if he's the nominee. I'd like to have some amount of positive feeling about doing so. But if all Obama supporters are like some of the ones I'm seeing here, that's not going to happen.

This stupid crap from both sides needs to end.

Thank you for expressing this.

4. Second all of that
I have never called Clinton supporters anything but Clinton supporters, as well.

5. Thank You :)
Rationality ftw ;)

Just makes sense to me - but then again, I'm the eternal optimist / happy guy.

I think you just did! However, I do agree with the rest of your post.

8. I refer to most women I know as 'girls' - its not disrespect
Its actually more of a thing of endearment. I meant NO disrespect by it. I consider myself a 'boy' in many aspects (Not a big fan of the whole getting old and being uber-responsible.. even though I know its happening daily) so I refer to women as 'girls'. Same way when I leave a room of people - even with many older than me, I say "See ya kids later" - its affectionate, not disrespectful.

I'll go with "Not about to insult the Woman" though, just to make sure you're happy :)
