Hillary Clinton superdelegate in Iowa throws support to Barack Obama

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama picked off a superdelegate previously committed to Hillary Clinton Friday in another setback for her campaign.

Sarah Swisher, a Service Employees International Union member from Iowa, switched after the union endorsed Obama.

Georgia Congressman David Scott also embraced Obama, and Rep. John Lewis was reported to be wavering amid heavy arm-twisting.

"There's a lot of stuff going beneath the surface, you know, stuff like, 'We'll get you if you don't support us,'" said a Georgia source close to the Congressional Black Caucus. Lewis and Scott campaigned for Clinton before last week's Georgia primary on Super Tuesday. Obama beat her by a 3-to-1 margin in the state.

"You've got to represent the wishes of your constituency," Scott said of his reversal. Lewis' position was less clear. On Thursday he told The New York Times, "Something is happening in America and people are prepared and ready to make that great leap."

Some party sources, however, said Lewis has not decided to bolt.

A Clinton backer with ties to the Congressional Black Caucus said the Georgia lawmakers don't have the cover of Charles Rangel, whose Manhattan district voted for Clinton. "Those people in the South, where Obama is getting 80% of the vote, are under tremendous pressure," the source said.

2. No problem. Hillary wants the superdelegates to respect the voters of their districts.
These switches are merely trump cards for her in the long run.
