We should be having FUN during this Primary Season
Before you make that next Obama or Clinton attack post. Before you dig the claws in a little deeper. Before you pop off something stupid like "I'm not voting for in the GE!" Before you ruin friendships or make enemies here on DU...think about this.

You should be enjoying this primary season!

Here's why:

The GOP is in turmoil. Neither Huckabee or McCain seem to be very popular. Glenn Beck, Super Repulican Whackjob D-Bag, has said publically on CNN that this is a "nightmare scenario" for the GOP. As Democrats, Progressives, Liberals, however you want your label to read, that should bring unmitigated joy to your faces. The Hardcore winger talk show hosts HATE McCain because he wont walk in lock-step with the ultra-conservative, authoritarians (read: he wont kiss their asses). The religious nutters HATE McCain because he wont agree to put the bible before the constitution. The Coultergiest is activly campainging against McCain. Rupblican primary voter turn out is tepid at best. Many moderate republicans will not vote for Huckabee. Almost none of the ultra-conservative base, the very same group that has been such a strong influence in the last two republican "wins," won't vote for McCain. It's a win-win for democrats!

On the other hand, we have two very strong candidates. Democrats are turning out in huge - even record breaking in some states - numbers during the primaries. In many states, the leading democrat has recieved more votes than ALL the republican candidates combined! Our candidates both seem to draw well from just about every demographic group.

So while I have no issue with people talking up their favorite democrat, maybe we can keep the bashing of other dems to a minimum? We've got a good hand this time around and the GOP is hurting. Lets focus on getting a democrat back in the white house!

2. I'm having a blast!
It's actually the first time I've ever enjoyed a primary season. It's also the first time my vote has counted.

4. some of us are. The only ones that are not are the ones that think
that their candidate was owed the nomination and it is now being taken from them.

They have totally trashed the country and done a good bit of damage across the world. We must never forget.

I will sit back and grin as democrats take majorities in the congress and the senate and also take the white house. My prayer is that local elections across the country mirror the democratic revival.

But, my fear is that it is not so much that democrats have distinguished themselves, as it is that repukes have repeatedly soiled themselves and the country. Once elected, the dems must give us the tools we need to re-build the country.

on edit: sp. and grammar,,, duh.
