1. The "comments" are pretty funny.
The fainters are Hillary plants sent there to disrupt the rallies?

10. Wow
Are you really that thick? Do you not understand the correlation between huge crowds, hot lights, people standing on line for hours and fainting?

Give it up. You're just making yourself look silly.

16. No shit, my wife was at the Eau Claire, WI rally today
A girl started to get woozy, and her mom had to help her off the stage. Obama tossed her a water bottle, and continued with his speech. My wife noticed that the girl did not look well long before going down. The people who were up front had to wait in line 6 hours outside just to get in Zorn Arena, then another 2 hours before Obama arrived, then an hour for his speech in a hot, crowded building, all the while standing up. It is a statistical likelihood that someone in the crowd would get wobbly legs. Anything for the Hil crowd to make light of, though, right? May the best candidate win.

24. So are you saying all those Beatle fans that fainted
Edited on Sat Feb-16-08 05:32 PM by Auntie Bush
weren't really overwhelmed with emotion when they saw the Beatles? They were just tired, hot, hungry, thirsty little girls. You're insulting many Beatle fans.

I'll bet those that fainted were young girls. Bet no men or older woman fainted due to the heat etc. That should disprove your theory.

LOL - Spell check made me do it.

27. Sorry
It's really hard to take you seriously when you've misspelled BEATLES twice in one post.

But yes, they too, attracted massive crowds that waited on line for hours, only to be crowded into venues with hot lights and inadequate seating.

But you go ahead and make Beatlemania into a chicks-only thing. That works so well.

28. the Hill supporters seem to have a thick streak of tinfoil running through them.
From the suggestions, the innuendo and the constant unverified, baseless charges that Repos are being mass organized to vote for Obama, to the suggestion of planting fainters in Obama's crowds, the Hillary supporters are convinced that a vast conspiracy is afoot to deny their once and always queen her hereditary rightful ascension to the thrown.

What a bunch of paranoids!

Got any evidence, or is evidence a bad word?

Man faints at Clinton rally in Bridgeton
http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/political-fix/political-fix/2008/02/man-faints-at-clinton-rally-in-bridegton/

One woman appeared to faint in the middle of Clinton’s speech. Clinton stopped to make sure she got some water, then told a story about fainting in front of the statue of David in Italy.

Two people pass out at Hillary Clinton rally

And there was at least one more fainting incident at a Clinton rally today.

No one is staging these events. It's a fairly common experience.

When you have large crowds, a packed house, and people standing for hours and hours, it's not uncommon. Get over it.

36. They're just the warm-up acts.
I have it on good authority that Obama's scheduled to heal a leper next week in Texas. And the week after that, he's pencilled in a visit to an Ohio funeral home . . .for unspecified purposes.

9. Maybe he ought to let his fans SIT for change--it might prevent that
postural hypotension that leads to these fainting episodes...

That "We Shall Be Overcome" title of the snark under the video is a bit funny...

To be fair, I don't believe it is orchestrated as that article and this one http://www.mynorthwest.com/?nid=76&sid=27720 suggest. I think some people are just really stupid and get hyper-excited for foolish reasons, is all. Remember that girl boohooing over that American Idol idiot? Same shit. It's not Obama's fault that he has "groupies."

19. It doesn't seem to be overexcitement
but rather standing for 8 hours or more in line and at the event in hot, crowded buildings. Maybe Hillary doesn't draw the kind of crowds that would go to that length to see her speak.

25. Maybe she speaks in places with chairs?

I wasn't talking about her--I was speculating about him and his fans and the type of accomodations at his venues.

I don't see how "crowd size" would matter as to someone fainting, or not. Being able to have a seat might help, though.

34. Diabetics would have a difficult time at events like those.
I'm sure there are other factors, but I am a diabetic and I've been caught in some strange situations. The last time was at an airport in Myrtle Beach -- and I thought I was prepared for the long wait.

30. I heard Michael Medved this week,,
instructing his callers to go to some site to look at all of these fainting spells. He said that this was like Ghouliani who instructed his staff to call him on the campaign trail to make him look more sincere, and he was relating this to Obama. I don't think this is what was happening..

37. someone needs to remind these people not to lock their knees
this probably has something to do with them having to wait in lines for hours!

I'm bringing a folding chair and lots of water and snacks for rallies coming up in Texas, there's no way I'm going to let myself faint!
