Superdelegates - Don't be swayed by the will of the people, Support the person you think is best
This is a nightmare -

"My prediction is there will be no fight," said Clinton campaign adviser Harold Ickes on a conference call with reporters Saturday. "All of this is going to be settled out before we hit the floor."

(cut)

"But he predicted that Clinton will "hold her own" in Wisconsin on Tuesday night and said the campaign expects her to win in Ohio, Texas and Rhode Island on March 4. Ickes said the demographics of Pennsylvania also favor Clinton and predicted she will win there on April 22.

(not if she's leaving Wisconsin early)

(cut)
"After the last Democratic primary contest in Puerto Rico in June, Ickes said Clinton and Obama will be "neck and neck.""Shortly after that she will wrap it up," he predicted.

(cut)

AND HERE'S THE PART THAT TERRIFIES ME - ARE YOU READY???

"Clinton's camp, meanwhile, contends that superdelegates should not be swayed by the voters of their districts but should support the person they think is best fit to be president."

I wish Sen. Clinton would stop saying and doing these things. Nobody should win this way. Regardless of who wins the primary this will hurt the Democratic party.

7. What would ever make you think
a thought like that? Perish the thought.. if hilaryland can't win fairly then they don't to be squatters like the bushites. Oh wait, from the way they've run their campaign..that's exactly what they want.

8. They ARE that intent on winning. But I don't think the SDs will follow their wishes.

3. A. I sent the DNC an email about how badly this would go over, i will
leave the Democratic party over this and I'll send them a letter when I do. I kid you not, using super delegates to usurp the will of the voters is tantamount to stealing an election just like in 2000.

6. I here you and agree
This will hurt just as much as the Bush selection when the Supreme Court decided the election. So, far the DNC is remaining firm on this. I hope this remains.

4. This is the usual bs from hilaryland
that is suppose to exude confidence and strength but just makes people who think for themselves more wary than ever of hilary and her pushy, disingenous surrogates.

5. People will be so mad, that I predict many will not just stay home,
they'll turn out and vote for McCain (because many will think if Limbaugh etc., dislikes him how bad can he be).

14. iacta alea est
I don't hate her. This is why it is so tragic. Why are so many DUers calling people haters when they express a political viewpoint - that's how this system works. I began the year as an Edwards supporter. When he couldn't do it, I began supporting Obama. I like him. If Obama tried this, and if I find out he is - I will be PISSED and just vote as a "write in." So far, Obama is asking the super delegates to vote the way their precinct voted. But I will be watching.

Sen. Clinton doesn't need to do it this way. She had some crappy campaign advice in the beginning. She could have won, easily, with a competent team. This too, is a tragedy. So, just like when Caesar crossed the Rubicon, iacta alea est (the die has been cast.) The facts and circumstances are what they are. We have no choice but to proceed and campaign with those facts and those circumstances. There is no turning back. So, I will support the candidate who can win. That person is Obama.

13. This Is Why I Jumped On The Obama Train
The way she's run her campaign and the incidents with surrogates and now this. I've been undecided for weeks and thought I would not have to make a choice, since I don't vote until March 4th........looks like I made the right decision.

18. That's funny - You're funny
Riots in Denver. Too funny. You spend enough time here at DU and you begin to think the rest of the world is as radical it is here. No way. Sorry to disappoint. No riots.

25. You got that right. Winning is everything to HRC, no matter how.
Edited on Sat Feb-16-08 10:37 PM by ShortnFiery
HRC is the quintessential Machiavellian. There are too many negatives and ill winds blowing her way, so she will simply pull out all the stops ... "cheat to win" if need be.

I hope and pray that HRC does not WIN. :(
