Poll question: Are you generally happy with Clinton or Obama as our possible candidates for President?

I just want to know how committed DUers are to the current choices.

2. Considering the tensions between supporters of different candidates...
I'd say you probably need an option for 'I like one, but not the other'

8. But a poll with no option to reflect the honest opinion of a percentage of likely respondents...

is meaningless.

5. You clearly left out my choice
I'm OK with one choice. I'll vote for the other if she gets the nomination.

12. Hi, Katzenkavalier. I'm oiling up the political time machine tonight to 1992,
and Mario Cuomo has just filed for the New Hampshire primary.

He goes on to win 2 terms, defeating Tsongas and Bill Clinton etc. and significant and affordable health care reform is enacted. Vice President Bill Moyers did a great job of moving the legislation through both chambers and still had time to confer with President Cuomo's Council of Ecumenical Spirituality, the grand effect of which was to quell the far-right fundies and redefine "faith" as a liberal initiative. Had Cuomo-Moyers not instigated this program, we might wind up with fundamentalists driving wedge issues inbetween groups of voters, thus electing hyper-conservative Republicans.

Now. Back to right this minute. I liked Edwards' domestic proposals but now support Obama. I'm not a Hillary hater but I'm weary of her husband's political chums. I'll support the ticket, but prefer Senator Obama.

One resonant point: in our original 8 announced candidates, there was an Afro American, a woman, and a Hispanic. I didn't see a whole hell of a lot of diversity over on the Republican side of the ledger.

14. Our nominee, whichever of the remaining two it turns out to be, is NOT
going to be John McCain.

That's pretty powerful motivation right there!

15. Aw man... what a delicious post!
I remember being utterly electified by Mario Cuomo's keynote speech, back when he was our "heir apparent" and "designated fair-haired boy." We were sure he was gonna go all the way. What a fantasy. Sigh...

When I think of what could have been, and what might have been, it's just frickin' painful! Wouldn't that have been a head-knocker ticket, though? Cuomo/Moyers. Man...

16. Hi, calimary. Mario and Bill would have got it done, by god! I'm excited
about that ticket even if it is just a fantasy.

And can you imagine the State of the Union addresses that would come out of a White House like that! Zowie.

17. Like one, not the other, but disappointed......
I like Obama, mainly because of the enthusiasm he engenders. The party needs that badly. I can't stand Hillary. I'm disappointed overall. We could have done better. Like Kucinich. Or Edwards.
