Why I support Obama
Edited on Sun Feb-17-08 01:25 AM by fenriswolf
Hope is what he is campaigning on. I have not seen anything from hillary to suggest that she has changed her policies of corporate concerns first and throw the dems a bone every now and then. Obama is a politician, yeah their is some shady shit in his past but so does every politician if you look hard enough (dont believe me? try looking up shit on your congressman just as hard as you tried for your candidates opponent) but I do think that he is already established in the corruption culture? thats the question, thats what establishment candidate means, already established in the culture of corruption. Which once it latches on to you will never let go. I don't think Obama is. It certainly looks like he may have done stuff for personal gain every now and then. But is he the type of guy to engineer a society to his and his peers best interest? I don't think so. Obama just might be the guy to turn this train around. I sure do Hope So.

1. There is no shady shit in his past
*sigh* The majority of politicians actually aren't corrupt. That is another reason we need to turn the page on the Clintons, get rid of the idea that all politicians are corrupt.

2. yeah their is corruption all over the place
or at least alot of stuff that looks like corruption. It may be legit, but alot certainly looks suspicious and to most of the general public thats all that matters. but glossing over that part I think my sentiment still stands.

4. No there isn't
My Congressman, DeFazio, isn't corrupt. My Senator, Wyden, isn't corrupt. I don't even think my Republican senator is corrupt. My governor isn't corrupt, and my last governor wasn't corrupt.

It is true that there are a percentage of any given group of people who are corrupt or otherwise assholes. Usually around 3%, in my estimation. You can focus on them, or focus on those doing good. The choice is yours.

But you cannot say people are corrupt who aren't, and Barack Obama is not corrupt.

5. I agree. None of my state favorite state senators are corrupt.
And I'm serious. You could barely pin an outdated parking ticket on them.

process. They think they can't make a difference because politicians are all corrupt, none have integrity, so why try? Better to just stay home and watch another season of inane television.
