One journalist...
The press has been as Dazzled as his supporters.

They're now showing clips to prove the media has helped Obama.

No link. This is on now.

1. So they have forgotten the "Clinton is invincible, the one to beat" theme
(see, I avoided "meme")

2. Awesome. Sounds like the press is doing its job, and not
just being "dazzled," as you put it, by Clinton's frankly shitty name.

6. We were fed Hillary as the inevitable candidate for more than a year.
Now the story is old and there are no Natalee Holloways to fill the gap so they're changing the meme. Sadly, the dimmer bulbs will buy it as they sit in front of the set waiting for the next Britney update.

17. I didn't say the media coined the phrase, but they might as well have.
Remember - "words are cheap." Hillary acted as if she was "it" and the campaign was just a nuisance to be gotten through. Surprise, surprise.

20. You mean the "Hillary is inevitable" phrase?
Some of us have ALWAYS known it was a media creation. While others actually believed it, and decried the media for picking on her.

28. So at least one Hillary supporter is willing to admit the media
gave HER a free ride for two years, before the actual primary kicked off in Iowa.

That's what I've been saying all along.

11. Isn't it better to get a closer look now rather than in the fall? If he's the One, he can withstand
the scrutiny.

I think the media has been shameless in its cheerleading and swooning over Obama.

Edited on Sun Feb-17-08 10:19 AM by tekisui
The Clinton camp needs to look no further than their campaign compared to Obama's campaign to understand why they are behind.

Blame the media all you like, it will get you nowhere.

16. The media is admitting what they have done. We don't have to blame them >>>>.
Right on cue they are beginning to slowly back down from their worship of Obama so they will be seen as completely non-partisan in time for the GE.

Next, for those who don't know, the Republican candidate will get all of their attention at that time and the dem.....well that candidate will have their closet cleaned and most likely be swiftboated whether they deserve it or not.

18. Yeah, and Obama will have to work within the same media jungle/
What is your point? If they had given Hillary a pass in the Primary, they would be ready to pounce on her in the GE. Obama and Axelrod know how it works, they know whats coming.

If Hillary can't beat Obama because of the media, how do you think she'd beat McLame with the media against her. This is pointless.

21. MSM
Obama supporters don't buy this. For so long they were going on like Hillary was Inevitable.Even after Obama started winning states they still had people saying Hillary was the most likely to win.
Now you see people go on saying Hillary should not be underestimated, and how she can win. When they talk about the general election they talk about Hillary Vs Mccain.Almost none ever has acted like
Obama could be the nominee. They often underestimate him,and rarely ever talk about how he can win,
and what he would be like against Mccain. This Obama getting the nomination Is total BS.Chris Matthews has people on acting like Hillary has done so much, and Obama done nothing.

24. Gee whiz,
did we ever get a discussion from CNN on how the media giving George W. Bush a free ride and bashing Al Gore in the process might have hurt HIS campaign in the 2000 so-called "election?"

And did we see clips of how the media bashed Al Gore, you know: "alpha male," "brown tones" "said he invented the internet" etc? I don't recall the media ever owning up to their unbelievable "George W. Bush WON the debate tonight because Al Gore SIGHED" analysis.

How hypocritical of the MEDIA at the point to ponder their role in an election. :eyes:

25. Schadenfreude ?
Bill Clinton helped build the Media Monolith that is destroying his wife's political aspirations.

Is the Telecommunications Act of 1996 (Allowing and Encouraging Media Consolidation) part of the 35 years of Change being claimed by Hillary?

The Media Monster the Clintons built is now eating them?

How positively Rovian! The media is running a pro Hillary/anti Obama piece and actually is trying to tell people the opposite thing? I guess Hillary, like Bush/Rove is counting on the nation's stupidity.
