Poll question: The new limits in GD-P are?
Edited on Sun Feb-17-08 01:53 PM by bigbrother05
Thought we've had the limits long enough to have opinions.

Edited to add 'Other'.

3. Fantastic! The number of Right Wing Clinton smear threads have been cut way down to...
...60 an hour.
Amazing how many Brand Spanking New HillaryHaters have so many posts already...

4. useless
if people spam the board, ban them. don't punish people who aren't spamming it. And anything less than 10 posts a day isn't spamming.

9. Right, are such Draconian measures necessary?
Most of the problems were in the lead up and cool down periods around the primaries. There were already mechanisms in place to help with the bandwidth issues, were the spewers really an additional burden that was shutting DU down?

It's not that hard to move past the umpteenth version of "Whoo Hoo, my candidate rox!" or "Nyah, nyah, na, nyah, nyah, your candidate sux!". Guess the politics police just needed to show us who rules.

BTW, think the mods do good job at a thankless task to ferret out the really abusive posters, guess the limit has made their task less onerous.

5. Two Things...
1) It would be nice that if EVERY time you hit the GD: P post box (when being reminded of GD or GD: P) it told you where you stood. IOW - how many posts you have currently within the 24hr period, and the times of those posts. As it is now, you only have that information AFTER you've posted your 3rd (last) post for the period. Might make people think twice about their second or third post.

2) If you post a dupe, or otherwise want to retract a post, does that give back to your total, or do errors count against you for 24 hours? IOW - Is there a way to get a post refunded. LOL???

And personally, I favor 5 posts per 24 hrs.

But that's just me.

6. Those are the kinds of things we've been thinking, too
Posted a topic in GD last night discussing some options to a hard, fast limit. Was hoping this poll would provide data to support the notion we could adjust this a bit.

7. Some of this, some of that
I'm tickled pink that some rabid thread starters are now capped... but now I can't post the "McCain Says He Has An Uphill Battle" and the "Clinton Campaign Sets Up Shop In South Austin" articles I just read.

10. Shameless kick #2
Nearly 300 viewings, but only 62 votes. Think the "don't cares" are leading.
