PA: Obama 49% McCain 39%; McCain 44% Clinton 42%, OR: McCain 45% Clinton 42%; Obama 49% McCain 40%
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone poll in Oregon shows John McCain leading Hillary Clinton 45% to 42%. However, Barack Obama leads John McCain 49% to 40%. McCain leads Clinton among voters not affiliated with either major political party but Obama leads McCain.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey shows Obama attracting 49% of the vote while McCain earns 39%. However, in a McCain-Clinton match-up, the Arizona Senator has a statistically insignificant two-point lead, 44% to 42%.

1. Kerry Leads 44%-41% As Bush Gives Ground Even In GOP Bastions
Investor's Business Daily - March 10, 2004
President Bush's popularity sank to an all-time low in March, just as Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., sealed the Democratic nomination.

3. And your point is?

Of course public opinion will change over time.

But I would much rather start from 10 points up than from 2 points down - especially in states Kerry carried in 2004.

5. LOL! No, let's instead go with a polling DISADVANTAGE with Hillary.

8. The bizarre confidence some Clintonites have that the polls will suddenly
change in her favor boggles my mind. She's losing ground to Obama as we speak, when she was ahead by 20-30 points last fall--that's quite the cushion she lost. But now the Hillary folks insist that she'll somehow GAIN an advantage over McCain, with no cushion at all--based on what?

10. Yep--at this point, people who pick Hillary as a general election winner are
practicing faith-based support--and they have the nerve to call Obama supporters a cult.

17. For the completely OBTUSE, here ya go!!!
The POINT--the plainly obvious point, to anyone who has even a small ability to make an analogy:

Don't count those CHICKENS before they are hatched.

Come November, we'll see how this plays out. The hubris laden self-assurance bit us in the ass before, and it might so do again.

22. What is that message now? Let's see...
Hope, change, dream, inspiration!! Hope, change, dream, inspiration!! Platitude, platitude, RAH, RAH, RAH! We are one nation, we are one people!!! Hope, change, dream, inspiration!!

It's a load of shit. It sounds good the first time, but by the third time you start to realize that it's just high sounding CRAP. It doesn't put food on the table, and it doesn't pay the light bill.

If he makes it to the nom, I will hold my nose and vote for the guy, but I think he will be attacked from all sides and won't prevail in the general election.

If he actually has a message, he's sure shy about transmitting it in his "soaring oratory" bullshit "speeches" AT--not to, not with--people.

But I know the acolytes can't bear any criticism of their Idol, even fair criticism, so I'll shut up. Can't bruise the hyper-sensitive amongst us!

Dear Lord, Allah, Yaweh, whatever you are called this week...give us President Gore....!!!

24. We are on the same page
The guy's message is pretty damn powerful. Much like a religious revival. How that will play a few months from now is a different story.

But since he's such an accomplished orator, hopefully he can find something new. Hope hope hope is going to play out - and soon.

28. Kerry wasn't as known. The Clintons are a known, divisive commodity.
If you think her poll numbers will go anywhere, you're delusional.

31. Uh, I am not talking about "the Clintons." I am talkng about
Obama, at the same time, four years ago, more or less, as when KERRY was leading in the polls.

I daresay Obama is better known that Kerry at this stage, too.

11. McCain would beat HRC in PA. That's check mate right there.
There's really no refutation to the vast array of evidence that Obama is a much better GE candidate than HRC.

We can argue the merits of who would actually be a better president (IMO it's Clinton) but HRC is utterly un-electable.

We're 8+ months out of the general. Obama has barely been touched right now. Wait until the assaults start. He won't be the same.

That's one reason he should be our nominee!

Many more....

I really hope we can put this race to rest by March 5th - and instead of fighting our holy battles, direct all our energy at the rethug war mongering intolerant pack of lying scum (did that cover it)? :hi:

30. Hillary has the highest negatives perhaps in history.
Hillary has the highest consistent NATIONAL negative ratings of any prez candidate in modern history.
We would be foolish to nominate her when Obama does WAY better in the general electorate. The R's are hoping and praying that Hillary is the nominee because it will unite their party bigtime.
