Regardless of who is the Democratic candidate
they will be subjected to a relentless barrage of MSM criticism, negative commentary, needling, belittlement, misinformation, half-truths, canards, rumor-mongering, swift-boating, ridiculing, abasement, virtue into vice transformation, gotcha journalism, and total inanity by the likes of Chris Matthews and other talking heads.

The Republican candidate will be given a free or almost free ride.

We lived through it with Dukakis, Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Cleland, and so many others. Is it possible that maybe THIS time we can mount an effective counter campaign?

In my opinion, not really, since the corporate masters own the printing presses and the TV stations. I'm sure they want the looting and pillaging of the country and the economy by the out-of-control corporate "I Got Mine Club" to go on as long as possible.

I wish I could be more positive.

1. you are 100% correct
everything we are seeing is a smokescreen.

All that matters is continuing the wealth-machine that is creating more and more billionaires as the middle class vanishes.

McCain will just be a handy blob of putty to serve as the new Oz while the folks behind the curtain continue to run the show.

3. And then there's Freedom's Watch, bent on the destruction of the Dem party:
http://www.buzzflash.com/articles/dailybuzz/476

While Freedom’s Watch tries to make a comparison with MoveOn.org, they are as different as night and day. As usual with Repuglicans who claim to be conservative, Freedom’s Watch is just another well funded cabal of very rich men gathered together, more than eager to maintain their status quo and to vilify Democrats! “Freedom's Watch may spend up to $250 million in 2008 election … Freedom's Watch, the well-funded conservative lobbying group founded by former White House staffers and extremely wealthy longtime Republican donors, fired its first shot in Election 2008. Founded last year, and making its public debut with a $15 million dollar advertising campaign …” and then there’s this: “… Patru … an able-bodied spinmeister for Freedom's Watch's Swift Boat.” Whereas “The MoveOn family of organizations brings real Americans back into the political process. With over 3.2 million members across America – from carpenters to stay-at-home moms to business leaders – we work together to realize the progressive promise of our country. MoveOn is a service – a way for busy but concerned citizens to find their political voice in a system dominated by big money and big media.”

4. How can YOU be more positive when what YOU say is absolutely true.
The MSM propaganda machine is wholly owned by the rethugs.

5. It is hard to beat the propaganda machine the GOP owns
They have at their hand a majority of the national media outlets. They can project all the filth and lies they desire and the MSM propaganda network repeat and perpetuates and even embellishes the stories while ignoring or denying the truth.
