What must happen so there WON'T be an UPROAR?
So many threads.... if X happens and Y is the result, there will be an UPROAR! :scared:

So - there must be a common solution that would appease all supporters -- isn't there? Have we gone beyond that?

1. I guess we need to work for the smallest uproar.
The Candidate with the most Pledged Delegates needs to get the Nomination.

As for FL and MI, there will be cause for small statewide uproars regardless of how it is handled. We'll just have to accept some, I'm afraid. And, hope that whatever the circumstances, the Democratic voters across the country will recognize the importance of electing a Democrat, and preventing McWar.

4. I don't know
What is discouraging is that this is happening in a year when under normal circumstances, the Dems could NOT lose...
If there isn't a big hoopla over this, I cannot see the Republicans winning this time. EVERYBODY is sick of them...the ones that don't care about important stuff like climate change, the war etc. are pissed off about "family values" related crap. McCain would have a hard time getting the fundie vote without Huckabee or Brownback or some nut like that on his team. And even then it is a bit iffy...

How do we always manage to screw up :(? The thought of living with a Republican president for 8 more years makes me want to :puke: out my inner organs....

6. I know. At a time when we should just be waltzing right in, united,
enthusiastic and rarin' to go, all these wrenches get thrown into the works.

You're right. We do seem to have a knack of screwing up these "givens".

I hope the majority of us will do whatever it takes to make sure we're the ones in the WH next year. We HAVE to!

9. Exactly! You beat me to it.
I think a lot of people forget that DU doesn't reflect the country. No matter what happens, in a close election, there will be an uproar...a lot of people will be unhappy and cry foul, legitimately or not.

Democracy is messy. But the alternative is much worse.

8. I'll hold my nose and support the lesser of two uproars...
I've done it many times in the past, one more time won't be hard.

And before it gets to that I'll support the uproar of my choice, and may the best uproar win!!!11!

10. If Hillary gets the nomination because of FL delegates...if she sues the DNC
Edited on Sun Feb-17-08 08:07 PM by madfloridian
It will not be minor at all. It will be a major turning point in our party.

We will most likely have choices. She would not be a legitimate nominee if she did that.

From instigator to victim. It was a Dem who introduced the early primary bill in Florida.

It is not to be taken lightly at all. Trust me.

13. If she sues the DNC? Do you really think there's a possibility of that
happening? I can't see her - or any candidate - doing that. If for no other reason than that it would turn a lot of people against her.

15. One of her guys on TV said it was possible.
I would have to look it up...Penn, Wolfson...not sure. It is here at DU somewhere. In fact I have read it at other sites.

17. That's okay - not your responsibility. I was just wondering where such
a stooooopid idea came from. It appears to be from one of the Clinton crew themselves.

That may be just their opinion, and she might not have any intention along those lines. Let's hope. I DO give her more credit than that.

Thanks for your response!

19. Right, it was talking head....I did find something
about Wolfson they would take drastic actions, then a link to a site that hinted. I did see something here. Since Dean has been sued twice already about this...it is not beyond the realm of possible.
