3,963.

I was just over at the Iraq Coalition Casualties. That's the most current body count of U.S. soldiers in Iraq. That's in addition to 39,298 wounded -- some of whom will never return to a normal life.

So fucking tell me about plagiarism. Because that's really fucking important to me right fucking now.

4. Some of those deaths might have been prevented. Check this out -
and interestingly not one response to what I feel is a very important post.

I predict both our threads will have a very short life span.

I'm really disappointed by my fellow DUers.

5. Iraq has dropped off the radar. I just can't understand that -- I honestly,
sincerely can't. Has it just become a part of our daily lives? I'm horrified by the apathy.

Thank you for posting this.

19. yes, war threads should be on the greatest page
daily, hourly, until the war is over. if my recollection of history is correct, the death toll of americans in vietnam reached 30,000 - THIRTY THOUSAND - before popular opinion and the voices of those opposed began to make a difference in public policy. i had hoped that in this case, when it was so clearly a wrong war from the start, the swell against the war would start sooner and be sustained and powerful enough to bring the war to a quick end. empty hope.

i admit as well, i do not dwell on the war all the time. i would go insane if i did. my mind needs to lighten up, i need to smile and laugh. even so, i rail against this travesty and the larger travesty of the rogue bush administration and their endless crimes so often that my 15-year-old is often heard telling me to calm down.

12. yes, we have to get our troops home, thats the most important thing right now.
and anyone here threatening to not vote for the dem nominee no matter who it is should be ashamed of themselves. the hundred more years of war that crazy old man mccain is threatening is just too big of a risk to take.

14. i want to get a bumper sticker
that says it's the WAR, stupid! it's the planet!
all these little tempests in a teapot, and the killing and dying and maiming and destruction goes on and on and on. it seems to have been forgotten. not to mention bringing the war criminals to justice - that appears to be a non-issue, though like the war, it remains and will remain huge to me.

and our gov still denies that Gulf War Syndrome is caused by exposure to our depleted uranium weapons. It's despicable.

Nearly four thousand of your fellow Americans are dead tonight, and you decided to make a snarky and sophomoric post on the subject.

You just told me everything in this world I need to know about you.

But I'll tell you what. I'll try not to hold your breathtakingly callous disregard for human life against your candidate. I'll keep assuming that Hillary is, in her heart, a decent and honorable public servant, and not an obnoxious asswipe like some of supporters.

And by "obnoxious asswipe," I'm not referring to you specifically. I'm sure you're an otherwise lovely human being.
