**BREAKING*- Clinton apologizes for her IWR vote , admits it was a mistake
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 04:24 PM by npincus
Just kidding.

Oh yes, Obama admits he's sure he shoulld have creditied Deval Patrick for some portions of a speech. Sadly, millions of Iraqis perished, were maimed or displaced from their homes, America's Treasury was emptied, and thousands of Americans died, as a result of Obama's poor judgement

Look over there, don't look here, says Hillary's campaign.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/02/obama-campaign.html

When asked if he should have credited Patrick, Obama admitted he should have: “I was on the stump. He suggested we use these lines. I thought they were good lines. I’m sure I should have. Didn’t this time.”

But the Illinois senator then turned his focus on Sen. Hillary Clinton, suggesting the New York senator uses his words without his approval. "Senator Clinton has used mine as well," Obama said, citing "fired up and ready to go," as examples.

7. Made the same point on an earlier thread. A president who admits a mistake?
We sure haven't seen it the last eight years.

From what I can see, it's unlikely we would during an HRC presidency, either. If she can't admit a mistake about the Iraq war vote, there's not likely much of anything that will be a mistake to her.

I prefer Lincoln's stance. When Gen. McClellan stood him up, insulted him, and generally treated him like dirt, he said he would happily hold his horse for McClellan if the general would just win victories.

Hard to imagine HRC showing that kind of humility.

16. omg, wow, that's kind of not nice, I would have really liked for this to be true!
I understand why she doesn't apologize, she doesn't want to look weak, I just don't agree with it. I think she really just can't admit a mistake, and that worries me, she needs to swallow her pride and just do it, and you know what, a lot of people would really respect her for it and noone could attack her on it.

However, if she's planning on possibly moving to the center on the war in the general election against McCain that might be a good reason why she might not want to apologize. And that thought scares me the most. I really want to believe she will get us out of Iraq, but I'm afraid she would sell the progressives out just so she could have more in common with the war hero McCain in a general election.

I thought Hillary decided that a strategic mea culpa would get rid of the smell coming out of her campaign.

25. This effort by the Clinton campaign is ridiculous
especially after blatantly cribbing "fired up and ready to go." Who knows, maybe the "Yes, SHE can!" and "GOMama" rip-offs came from the Clinton campaign as well? I wouldn't doubt it.
