BLOWBACK is a BITCH! We are about to witness some more.
The Hillary Campaign keeps attempting to do damage to the Obama campaign, and all that ends up happening is that they hurt themselves in a long run.

Each petty instant is snatched up by Hillary supporters everywhere, with a renewed glimmer of hope that a "controversy" will rise to MSM reporting and end the Obama campaign once and for all. First we had the snub, than it was all about the Cult, than there was the "faint", now there's "just words", and not counting out anything that Michelle Obama might say.

On the other hand, the Hillary campaign has staged various "occurrences" like the "Iron my shirt", I found my voice Hillary "tears", "Hispanics don't vote for Blacks", and the most recent; Rude Obama Heckler confused with "Pro-Life" protesters at Bill campaign stop (MSM only show Bill dogging out Pro-Life members...which of course is what Dems want to see)

If the Hillary campaign actually believes that Obama borrowing two words (Just Words--the rest were public domain quotes) from his good Friend and a member of his campaign is somehow going to "move" voters, they've got another thing coming.

Voters aren't stupid. They understand much more than the Hillary Campaign gives them credit for.

Voters know that this is nothing, and means nothing.

Hillary supporters, on the other hand, don't appear to have a clue.

I feel badly for a campaign that doesn't know how to do anything beyond attack, distort, twist, accuse, stage situations, whine and dismiss.

And for the record;
Hillary's solutions are "Just Words"!
(Per approval from Duvall Patrick)
written down on a fucking piece of paper.

I'm still "fired up and ready to go".......as Hillary and McCain have both plainly stated on the campaign trail.

But watch.....cause, it will be the blowback that will be a bitch!

134. Let's hear it...
She deserves it.

However, she's going to lose and it will be enough for me--to see her
losing what she considers her birthright.

She is a terrible person and I'm scared that so many in our party were
bamboozled by her. For God's sakes, just look at her votes. She's
Lieberman in a pantsuit.

Ok, but I still want to hear what you've got...

We've seen what happens when we have a President and VP that leads from the Darkside. We get more illegal war more outsourcing of jobs, more corp. record profits, more record consumer debt and more tax cuts for the rich.

Keep sharp and prepared, and have a response to the smears and attacks ready at the first sign of trouble.

Defang the attacks with truth, broadcast as quickly and widely as possible, then watch the blowback as everyone dogpiles Hillary for pulling a Rove...

You know, it's only going to get worse, with the FL & Mich delegates and the Superdelegates and the "we'll do anything to win" attitude, anyway. I'm a tiny bit worried about the machines in Ohio, but aside from that, I think they're doing very well in damaging their campaign all on their own, if they can be helped along, I'm all for it.

135. Clinton has relied on...
...the THREAT of her being in a position of power.

For years, they've hung that over every Democrat and Republican head.

Don't want to piss off the future Queen, now do you??? WELL! DO YOU???

She has never had to play an honest game--listening to people and furthering
intellectual ideas. She expected to use her power to destroy people who didn't
fall in line, control people who she wants to keep in line and leverage those who
kiss her ass.

Now. She's no longer inevitable. She no longer has that threat of power hanging
over so many people--that she's controlled all of these years.

Her enemies will come out of the woodwork to reveal what a mess she is.

And if I ever do decide to stop doing operations and be the principal of a campaign, I'll have a much more realistic grounding than Hillary ever could hope to, because I've kept an open mind along the way, and learned a helluva lot from others.

Oh, yeah: I didn't intellectually cloister myself, like she did, either.

103. You are correct!
The Clintons have no conscience, no feelings.

They want to bring down the Democratic party just because the primaries aren't going their way. Well, it's not going their way so they should just leave the political stage after the next few primaries.

Hillary is in a lose lose situation and she knows it.

Clinton has Secret Sevice protection and an anal retentive advance team. People get stopped with PRO Hillary signs, but these two jokers were able to waltz in with that one? I'm not buying it.

I've talked to several people who work in NH/Boston radio, and they all believe that the campaign was in on this.

4. When did Hillary campaign say "Hispanics don't vote for blacks"?
ONE, I repeat, ONE pollster on his own, said that historically Hispanic have been reluctant to vote for black candidates. But then we go to the "Clinton rules" mentioned by Paul Krugman, whereby everything said that anyone who is even remotely close to Hillary is proof of evil intent against her or Bill.

17. That was a Hillary Pollster, i.e., employed by the campaign.....
and Hillary agreed that this was an "historical Fact".

“The Hispanic voter—and I want to say this very carefully—has not shown a lot of willingness or affinity to support black candidates.”

—Clinton pollster Sergio Bendixen
http://www.rollingstone.com/nationalaffairs/index.php/2008/01/12/clinton-pollster-latinos-too-racist-to-vote-for-obama/

Clinton at Root of Racist Stereotyping - Hispanics vs Blackswashingtonpost.com — Where did this come from? "Hispanics traditionally do not like Blacks." Since when? This is a racist, divisive falsehood that the Clinton Campaign has created and nurtured as a 'historical statement' in an attempt to pit the political arena against Obama. First mentioned by a Hillary pollster and then affirmed by Clinton herself. There is no proof.
http://www.digg.com/2008_us_elections/Clinton_at_Root_of_Racist_Stereotyping_Hispanics_vs_Blacks

A few weeks ago, Sergio Bendixen, a Clinton pollster and Hispanic expert, publicly articulated what campaign officials appear to have been whispering for months. In an interview with Ryan Lizza of The New Yorker, Bendixen explained that "the Hispanic voter - and I want to say this very carefully - has not shown a lot of willingness or affinity to support black candidates."

The spin worked. For the last several weeks, it's been on the airwaves (Tucker Carlson, "Hardball," NPR), generally tossed off as if it were conventional wisdom. And it has shown up in sources as far afield as Agence France-Presse and the London Daily Telegraph, which wrote about a "voting bloc traditionally reluctant to support black candidates."

The spin also helped shape the analysis of the Jan. 19 Nevada caucus, in which Clinton won the support of Hispanic voters by a margin of better than 2 to 1. Forget the possibility that Nevada's Hispanic voters may have actually preferred Clinton or, at the very least, had a fondness for her husband; pundits embraced the idea that Hispanic voters simply didn't like the fact that her opponent was black.

But was Bendixen's blanket statement true?

Far from it, and the evidence is overwhelming enough to make you wonder why in the world the Clinton campaign would want to portray Hispanic voters as too unrelentingly racist to vote for Barack Obama.

61. Stage V
Stage I When you do not have the best position on the war - prevaricate

Stage II When you do not have the clear voice of leadership - triangulate

Stage III When you do not have the momentum - trivialize the election just lost

Stage IV When you do not have anywhere to go - instigate a smear on the supporters as unthinking cultists

Stage V When the supporters embrace the slur and turn it around - start backing up the dump truck and release a load
against the leader who has sparked a fire across the country.

Stage VI When this desperate tactic is reviled - step aside as the great locomotive of history barrels by you and you turn to watch history pass you by.

16. The saddest part is that any substantial ground for critiquing Obama has been ignored.
The stupid focus on Obama as the "words not deeds" candidate was just another sideshow that took away from the actual vetting that the primaries are supposed to do. She could've tried to attack his national security or foreign policy credentials, but instead of having a substantive argument on those grounds, we get this crap. If Hil somehow wins the nom, I'll vote for her, but I'll be glad if she loses, because I don't want to sit through another 7 months of this asinine foolishness, to say nothing of 4 years.

112. Totally agree here.
In Team Clinton's race for the bottom, they have utterly failed to boost their lagging campaign by attacking Obama in the area she is strongest: foreign policy. This would have either forced Obama to step up his foreign policy knowledge or it would have bolstered Clinton's national security cred.

But yet Penn and Wolfson aim for the lowest common denominator. And that's why they are losing.

255. They went with the Rove strategy
One of the trademark Rove strategies is to attack the opponent's perceived strength, which is exactly what the Clinton campaign tried to do. Instead of trying to blunt Obama's momentum with a substantive debate on the issues that he might be weak in, they resorted to the slimy tactics of the GOP. They forgot one little detail--they were targetting Democratic primary voters, who, on the whole, are not going to fall for that sort of BS.

45. The Democratic candidates are just toughening-up each other for the general election.
This bruising battle in the primary campaign is making the eventual winner all the more conditioned and prepared to do battle with the forces of rethug swift-boaters who will throw every dirty trick and falsehood at our candidate in the general election. Don't think for one second the Dems are digging up anything against each other that the rethugs wouldn't dig up. By attacking each other Hillary and Barack have already exposed themeselves and built up some immunity to the poisonous spin that will be hurled with more ferocity as November draws near.

So you see, Hillary and Barack are smart Democratic operatives cooperating to make the winner much stronger against McCain. Anyway, that's how I'm spinning this. Neither of their campaigns are stupid enough to hurt the chances of the Democratic nominee in the general election, right?

IF she were to win the primary fair and square, without seating the delegates from Florida and Mich, and without arm-twisting superdelegates, I would very reluctantly vote for her. If, on the other hand, she wins by basically stealing it, I won't be voting in this election - it's important for me to have a dem in the WH, but if she steals the nomination from the one who really won, I give up on the process.

the OPPOSITION party? Of course he's not going to play nice. Hillary has gone above and beyond what an opposition party member would do. Nice that it makes you laugh, but it won't be so funny if McCain wins the general because Hillary wins the primary by using dirty tricks, and if she does, she WILL lose the election.

It's frigging hysterical.

the 2 million refugees and not being able to say it was wrong and a mistake in simple language.

That vote and all her other votes were made with the simple calculation that she would be able to run against a Republican and protect her right flank. Triangulation of death.

Others made the mistake and were honest about it.

Sad is the fact that while some risk a lot for peace some never risk anything. Lots of people who didn't have a comfortable Senate seat risked for peace.

We have witnessed a totally unnecessary Hiroshima in slow motion and that is sad. Politicians who tried to profit from it need to be contained and not promoted.

One thing i have noticed about people who think they are entitled is that they have little introspection. They have little empathy for others so they tend to use others in liaisons to patch up personal relationships with others (in other words, if you really knew them you would be able to see the smallness). It's not really a conscious thing they do, it's kind of more like they were mostly born that way

When you are saying

quote
perhaps discovery that Obama is in fact a fraud who copied an entire campaign -- affect, speech, message, chants, will be that reward
unquote

are you presenting this as your own personal beliefs or are you parodying the uninformed folks who are not aware that Obama has made attribution to the "just words?" to his friend earlier? And exactly what presidential candidate did he copy his uniquely successful campaign. Are you going to argue that he copied things like "clapping of hands" and "making of signs" and things so uniquely individual like "Go _________ Go". Please tell me that you were parodying this puerile line of thinking and not actually promoting after it has been so thoroughly debunked all day.

Please note, I have always said make of the report what you will.

It is, however, real and significant... particularly because the MSM loves the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.

177. They can pick up the Clinton donor story off their newswire subscriptions...
... and that's after a long, long relationship with the Boston Globe that goes back many years.

That's not reporting. It's pandering and dog whistling.

... especially when they're cut out of the loop on a very big story, and have to suck it up and run the newswire, when they could've been in the vanguard of reporting it.

Since you're so well versed about all the candidates and their dealings with unsavory characters, why don't you tell us all a little about convicted felon (and wife of Congresswoman Jan Shakowsky) Robert Creamer and his dealings with Obama.

Regarding Vinod Gupta, it looks like you've been "scooped" (you're familiar with that term, right?) by the New York Times. But don't worry, you only missed it by a year.

195. I really don't get it.
I'm supporting Obama. He's my preferred candidiate. I really don't get, though, the reflexive "the other candidate SUCKS!/we will get REVENGE" mindest common to DU. WHy do we have to put everything in a binary? Just because you like A doesn't mean you automatically have to hate B.

On this thread, I've seen DUers write things suggesting that Hillary CLinton has no conscience, that Clinton supporters are stupid and evil, and other over-the-top insults. I really don't underrstand why that's necessary. On anti-Obama threads, I've seen invective that's just as ugly-spirited about MY preferred candidate. I don't see the need for it.

And don't give me that "But...but they started it!" bullshit, because that's not a valid argument.

I wish we'd all stop poisoning the political process. Enthusiasm FOR someone doesn't have to translate into vile hatred AGAINST someone else.

216. i was done forever with HRC when kerrey opened his mouth
This, I don't care about, not at all.

I'm amazed at the folks who see it as the "last straw" tho. What, the Kerrey and Shaheen things were ok? The open race baiting was ok?

It's this absurdity, amounting to nothing more than HRC humiliating herself further, that's what makes some of you flip your wig?

I wasn't a HRC hater until she made it impossible for me to have any other feeling for her. I was all set to vote for her once I realized Edwards had no chance.

I just pray Obama doesn't go negative/smartalecky on McCain, and that McCain will have enough decency to condemn the smears that will be flung at Obama.

If the McCain-Obama race turns into a GE version of HRC v Obama I just won't vote. Judging by the advice I see about how Obama should handle the GE, I think a lot of ppl on the left are on the "win at all costs" mentality that ruined Movement Conservatism. If you really want change, I pray you guys will be the enforcers that get Obama to really be a new kind of candidate in the GE. He should be able to win easily on the economy, the war, and Bush.

If he goes "McCain is not fit to be president because he once condemned Falwell but took it back," if he goes that route, man am I going to be disappointed. I'll be even more disappointed if McCain does something similar.

223. I am no fan of McCain but i am quite sure he will not resort to the divisive but........
am quite sure his surrogates will. You see it with HRC, it will definitely surface with McCain. It will probably even be much more ugly. To paraphrase "If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen" as Harry would say.

Harry we loved ya, and especially that part with the after the fact

(snip)
On the campaign trail, Truman would encounter voices from the crowd shouting, "Give ‘em hell, Harry." The president would respond, "I don't give them hell. I just tell the truth about them and they think it's hell."

This is Harry Reid's old-fashioned politics. The country desperately needs it.

227. So why do you feel it necessary to write "BITCH" when talking about HC?
And in capital letters too. Granted you did not explicitly state she is one, but the implication is pretty obvious.

And O did use Gov. Patrick's words without attributing them. It isn't plagerism per say, but he did pass it off as his own words.

245. What is obvious is that the Clinton campaign has reached a stage
of such desperation that it is seeking the thinnest possible excuse to upset the apple cart and expect that this somehow will create a demand that Americans will sign up for another 8 years of Clintonian parsing and triangulation. It is pathetic and predictable

From now until March 4th when this sorry campaign will be put out of its misery we expect a constant flow of negative attacks on the flimsiest of excuses. The campaign has given up any pretence of trying to leading the party to victory, they know it is impossible. They and you join them in it know that there only possibility is to chop block Obama down. Only one problem with that we will not be swiftboated - and Blowback is a Bitch.
