I've lost the battle.
I've succumbed to allowing a candidate's supporters to send me running in the other direction.

I've always tried to be supportive and understanding of the PASSIONS that are driving us in this election. And I've, in my wisdom :eyes: I've encouraged others expressing their frustrations to listen to the CANDIDATE and not the supporters.

But no more.

Barack, you'll be getting my vote in the primary.

Great job in promoting your candidate, Clinton supporters.

We were excited when she jumped in. She killed all excitement.

14. I know that my feelings don't matter in the big picture, but they matter to
ME. And I'm really sad that I do feel this way -- and maybe I'm disappointed in myself, too.

Anyway, up until today I felt it was silly, too, but some things were said today that really hurt.

41. If you know that then I'm not sure why you think Hillary supporters are
so much worse. I've seen some really nasty threads about Bill Clinton, Hillary, their marriage, etc. etc.

I was an Edward's supporter first and the Obama supporters even started attacking him the other day...I think Twinkie was the word they used for him.

Last week I had the flu and felt like crap and I still spent over 2 hours trying to give out information....an Obama supporter and I tried to have a conversation about the health care plans and it was hard because I was attacked for passing on information. I wasn't slamming Obama's plan I was explaining why I though Hillary's is better but I still got slammed. That's when I started giving it back as good as I got.

I'm sorry you felt hurt by something said but I don't think you are being very objective about the other side's supporters.

53. Honest - I don't think the Hillary supporters are worse -- both sides have their
gems! And they both have supporters who stoop REAL low.

It was just that it happened to be comments by Hillary supporters that pushed me in the direction I was leaning toward. You know-- the Tippint Point!

I understand your frustration about not being able to have a discussion about an issue. For too many it's just a platform to present their jabs.
I've asked for help and enlightenment several times (because I have a LOT to learn) and for every 10 smart ass responses, there are one or two who try to sincerely answer my question.

Hope you're feeling better!!

That means Wolfson, Penn, Shrum, McAuliffe, Carville, Begala and the other cast of thousands who continue to promote REALLY BAD POLITICAL STRATEGY - they suck and they are way beyond their freshness date.

They have done her a great disservice and I wonder if she sees it or if she endorses it, I don't really know.

Her group has the horrendous tendency to target other Dems, trying to marginalize other Democratic factions, with a very nasty edge.

In the beginning, it was what gave me pause about her candidacy. I like Hillary, but I LOATHE the idea of having these clowns pulling the levers of triangulation, parsing, etc., etc., all over again.

Hillary, I'm sorry, but I can't go through all this again, like we did so long ago.

THANK YOU for making this point before I did -- or at least making the opening:

When someone decides to support HRC because s/he's disgusted with BHO supporters, s/he's an idiot.

When someone decides to support BHO because s/he's disgusted with HRC supporters, it's warm welcomes all around.

39. I'm not sure if I'm understanding the point of your post, but
it wasn't solely the supporters who "decided" for me. (Although I may be an idiot anyway.)

I've been leaning this way but still trying to hold myself impartial and objective - today after someone I admire greatly was attacked with glee by some HRC supporters, I just thought, fuck it. Not a big deal. I made up my own mind - they just put the finishing touches on it.

49. But you just said:
"I've succumbed to allowing a candidate's supporters to send me running in the other direction."

I'd think that a well-grounded conviction in Obama's plans and policies would send you running toward him, not running away from HRC, or her supporters.

But, whatever -- I guess I'll never really understand, because I made my decision long before the Obama supporters started to really set my teeth on edge.

In any case, congratulations on making up your mind, one way or the other. It feels much nicer to have finally settled, doesn't it?

I was still pissed at the posters for what they said, so I also succumbed to being whiny.

56. Indeed
I decided not to vote for Obama based on what he's done and what he stands for. But the behavior of some of his supporters has definitely reinforced my stance. If they are indicative of what the "Hope and Change" he is bringing to America I don't want any part of it. It doesn't reflect anything I've ever defined as hope, and it's not the kind of change I'm looking for.

Nonetheless your point is very true.

When someone decides to support HRC because s/he's disgusted with BHO supporters, s/he's an idiot.

When someone decides to support BHO because s/he's disgusted with HRC supporters, it's warm welcomes all around.

candidates in the last few weeks. There are some people here right now who are doing nothing but stirring up trouble. You can't allow people like that to make up your mind. have to do with EITHER of the candidates - nor of their families or offspring. They were directed at another person that I hold in the highest regard, the posts weren't necessary, and those who were gleefully enjoying them happened to be Hillary supporters.

I was amenable to both of them, since Edwards had lackluster finishes. Obama's ability to inspire new voters drew me towards him. Hillary, with her attacks shoved me away. This latest bit is too much. I am really hoping for an Obama win, I will be voting for him as well.
