Be Still My Heart, Hillary...she's giving a bang up Enviro/POPULIST Speech /C-Span...

Small Business on the Internet....like E-Bay...emphasis..to Global Marketplace....She want's farming to be close to local...when she buys an apple in New York State..she wants to know it's not grown in China...Greenhouses in states with Short Growing Season...Methane from Dairy Farms to help our Carbon Usage Problem...and Wind, Solar, Retrofitting our Aging Buildings with energy efficient windows and insulation to save money...Re-building our Infrastructure which is crumbling..."so you don't have to hold your breath when driving over a bridge for fear it will collapse!"

Give Medicare the right to negotiate for Low Drug Prices. Cut out "subsidies that Bush gave to HMO's which is a waste...and put that into a National Health System. She says "Sick People are being Discriminated Against....because they are thrown off their insurance plans.

She says...Get rid of the Oil and Gas subsidies because the companies had them when they "needed them...but they DON'T NEED THEM ANYMORE... and Take that Money and put it into Renewable Engergies that will save our country from Imported Oil Dependency."

She wants "low interest College Loans for Students that they can work off if they do Community Service for a few years like Teaching...Health Care.

She wants to provide DENTAL CARE along with HEALTH CARE! She's proposing the Congressional Plan and limit on the Premium you have to pay for Health Care. She's saying it's "Private Health Insurance Options" and REGULATE the Insurance Companies....

She says "We need to Reign in the Special Interests" and give the money back to the Middle Class. Grow Jobs for Clean Energy and Infrastructure Repair. Stop the EXPORTING OF JOBS...TAKE AWAY THE INCENTIVES for JOBS TO LEAVE! She's GOING to RAISE TAXES ON WALL STREET CEO'S.

Restore Confidence and Competence in our Government... She says HALLIBURTON and SPECIAL CONTRACTS HAVE REAPED BENEFITS ...but they WILL NOT ANYMORE in her ADMINISTRATION...

She wants to Restore our Moral Leadership in the World and she will start Immmediately to Repair this Damage that Bush and Cheney have done and the World will breathe a sigh of relief when Bush/Cheney leave."

She says she wants to withdraw troops starting within 60 days...but she wants to do it carefully....but she will immediately start a plan. Iraqi Government has to take responsibility. "When we get the troops home...let's make sure we take Care of their Health needs."

She says "FORCE SHOULD BE USED AS A LAST RESORT .....NOT...A FIRST RESORT.....

Alot of work needs to be done...she says "We haven't been called to do anything...George Bush didn't ask us to do anything." "Americans want to feel PRIDE again." "We need to think about the Next Generation." "Hire Me for this Hard Job..."

MY COMMENT ON THIS:

It's a VERY IMPRESSIVE SPEECH!......Even though I know ...it's a bit of Edwards, bit of Obama, bit of Bill and a bit of maybe what Hillary really believes. And, because she is hoarse her voice isn't as harsh and flat as it usually sounds. She gave a speech like this in New Hampshire in a Forum that was very good... BUT...I don't know if I can trust her ...anymore than I can Obama.

This is when I started supporting her. When I started listening to the debates and she came out loud and clear on where she stood, while the men were evading the questions.

9. She sounds so good....I want to go with her...thinking she's different

from Bill...but I kept asking....Why didn't Bill do this for us when HE HAD THE CHANCE?

So...I thought the speech was excellent...because it hit all my "hot buttons" about "sustainable energy, growing what we can locally, expanding the internet so "small businesses can get a leg up" and compete globally, taking tax breaks from Big Oil...and the rest.


I felt on "one hand" she was trying to be a Dem Populist....and it was a clever counter to Obama. And it was just more Clinton Pandering. But, it's the second GREAT SPEECH I've seen her give on ISSUES as opposed to "Hollow HOPE & CHANGE"...that impressed me. The first was a forum she held in New Hampshire where she seemed "very real" and not the "plaster saint" or "wife of Bill" that we think of her as. She dealth with ISSUES there and seemed VERY REAL in relating to her audience. This is the second speech I've seen her give where she touched all the issues I care about.

C-Span is going to broadcast Michelle Obama speech later tonight. I'll watch that to see where Obama stands on the issues. The only speeches I hear that are broadcast from Brarack are always "Hope & Change" ...with MLK, JFK and other quotes. I've not yet seen a speech that was comprehensive on issues that I've heard from Hillary on C-Span Live.

I'm in NC...and my Primary isn't until May...so neither Obama nor Hillary have been here so that I can go and listen to them. I can only rely on MSCorporate Media or C-Span to hear them.

I'm hoping I will get to hear how Obama will deal with the issues Hillary addressed in what I just gave a "running thread of" as I watched her on C-Span from Wisconsin. :shrug:

I'm "on the fence." I don't know which one to support because neither was the Candidate that I had hoped to support.

10. She said that she thought "E-Bay and sites like that are good" because it allows Small Business

people to get their products OUT THERE on the Web where folks from all countries can come and BUY...

She gave an example of someone she met who had some small thing he made and that he had buyers from all over the world coming on E-Bay...so he could make a living. :shrug: I can't verify that what she says is true...but it sounded good.

What I heard was that she was letting folks know she SUPPORTS the INTERNET as a way for "local American Business" to get their products "out there!" That's kind of good.. If I'd been in the audience I would have asked her if she would "fight to the death to keep the INTERNET FREE and does she support EFF...
but...I wasn't there..so I will never know...but I liked what she said...as an internet Freedom Supporter.
