This is dedicated to ALL democrats here at DU:
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 06:33 PM by whereismyparty
I was just in the process of surfing the liberal blogs, when I found this little nugget at www.thewashingtonnote.com :

In 1988, voter turnout in the primary season hit a then-record of 35 million -- 23 million of these were Democratic and 12 million Republican.

And we're not saying "President Dukakis".

We should never forget that all this mud-slinging and name-calling and slime-dredging going on here at DU between candidate loyalists may cause some real problems down the road. This is the primary season, folks. We may have greater voter turnout now, but we are far from winning this thing.

I am a Democrat and I will fully support the Democrat nominee -- whoever he or she may be.

Will you?

24. Editing time has expired, but we should have said... "and will support the DEMOCRATIC nominee!"
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 10:52 PM by Radio_Lady
People get all fussed up if we don't use that verbiage.

Ah, well, we should understand anyway.

Cordially,

Radio Lady Ellen

4. Amen and ditto -
Regardless of my preference of candidate, I LOVE doing what I can to keep McCain out of the WH.

And I reminded someone today who said they might not vote -- do it for our troops in Iraq, if for no other reason.

Thanks for the post! :headbang:

13. Absolutely!
I couldn't believe the great slate we had -- from the very beginning. I have never been so proud to be a Democrat.

The very most important thing is to put a Democrat in the White House, then take control of Congress & Senate...and bring our troops home.

Also, I wish Nancy Pelosi hadn't taken impeachment "off the table."

Peace:thumbsup:

10. I. too, will support the Democratic nominee--whoever that may be.
I hope we see as much partisanship and take no prisoners attitude against McCain as we do between the supporters of our present candidates. What we don't need is the "my candidate didn't win, so I'm going to take my marbles and go home and teach you all a lesson" attitude.

11. No
I'm sorry, I truly am, but I believe that voting either Obama or Clinton into office will do more harm than letting McCain scream at congress for four years. If McCain wins, then we can try again; if Clinton or Obama win, then we'll most likely be stuck with them.

The other problem is that, so long as we will vote for candidates that do not represent our views, none of them will represent our views. The party elite must be made to understand that they will continue to lose as long as they do not offer us a meaningful choice.

15. I'm not that fond of either of our choices, but Yes, I will. For one reason only. SCOTUS
Either Hillary or Barak will appoint moderate/liberal justices, which the court oh so desperately needs.

And, oh, yeah, that little-bitty war thing.

If the dems nominate a dead cat, I will vote and campaign for said discorporate kitty.

WIll show back up in November?? I doubt very many of them will even bother...a vote for Obama would set the clock back to '88 in my opinion.

The GOP has had the most competitive primary they've had in decades and their turnout is still low.

26. Yes, Michael Dukakis was "swiftboated" -- before that term was even in use!
It was called a regular, old-time political "smear campaign" in those days.

We were living in Massachusetts and saw it all.

27. A timely reminder.
I'm not about to assume we've got this one wrapped up yet. We could do it. We have two candidates who could both win the GE...That is if we don't shoot ourselves in the foot before then.
