my words to Obama about the whole plagiarism joke
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 09:36 PM by PretzelWarrior
When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us. The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone. Make the most of your regrets. . . . To regret deeply is to live afresh. Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.

***Yes, I totally edited this post beyond all recognition from its original form. A)because I decided I agreed it was a bit too stark of a statement about tomorrow's vote.....and B)I used up my 3 posts so I'm repurposing this one. Nyah! Nyah!

4. I'll respect them....that's just my pregame analysis
since when do only highly paid know-nothings get to spout their uninformed speculation and opinion? Some of us in the hinterlands are happy to do it for free.

I truly think if Obama loses tomorrow, it will be an ugly sign to Clintonistas that they should redouble their negative attacks and then you will have what you so-called want...more of the same shit from 2 mealy mouthed middle of the roaders and there REALLY WON"T be a difference between them.

3. I don't think Obama walks on water.
If that makes me ignorant in your eyes, so be it.
Good luck being enlightened.

5. Wisconsin's enlightened enough. They gave us Russ Feingold.
Threads like this one don't help, and remind me of Team Clinton's "those states don't count" mantra.

9. The only State I attempt to assess is Texas, because I know Texas like few do.
I do not attempt to call any other state, no matter what the polls say. Polls are businesses and during election time they are like hookers working a convention in Las Vegas. Meaning, they are selling it and selling it as often as they can. They use dubious methodologies, which aren't even internally consistent, and then tell us something that may be 25 points wrong either way.

I'll give one example.

The pollster picks the time of day, the day of the week, the method of contact, and the spiel the person is told when they answer the phone. They don't know who they're leaving out. They don't know who is at home and not answering. They don't know who isn't at home. They don't know who has a cell phone, not a land line. They don't know new voters. They don't know if they're being told the truth.

Guess what? If your poll takes place on Friday Saturday Sunday, you're going to get old people, who will be home and will answer the phone no matter who calls.

And it goes on and on. Give me a poll and the methodology, and the profile of the voters polled, as well as the locale, and I'll tell you who will win that poll.

Guess what? If you poll outside a Baptist Church, 100% believe Jesus is the Son of God. Take that poll outside a Synagogue, and you'll get a different answer. Outside a Mosque, another different answer. Outside a Buddhist monastery, another different answer.

It matters who you ask and where you ask, always.

Wisconsin is a toss up, ten points either way.
