1. She is being introduced by Tia Neson, daughter of Gaylord Nelson....
who was the Sen. from Wisconsin and the father of Earth Day.

7. She's talking off the cuff. In the future, the status quo will require that
she reads a written speech.

That's what I hate about DU right now.......because so many are pushing what the RW has pushed on us all of this time. They are swiftboating based on bullshit. It is really disheartening to witness. Same folks that will be wanting our vote if Hillary gets "lucky".....and is the nominee.

Thank You!!
I missed this earlier, I had to leave right when it came on. I've heard that "really proud" line before, it's not new. Just a big hullabaloo about nothing. A lot of us haven't been REALLY proud of this country in our adult life either.

5. I know it is all a bunch of shit. The status quo wants all of us to watch what we say......
and they want to watch what we do. :(

9. Well that was it
She's proud the country is coming together and rallying around hope and change. What a shame that is. :eyes:

12. She's really hearfelt......
easy to led by fear when you are struggling all of the time....

there is this veil of impossibility due to this veil of fear and it cuts us off from each other....and we pass on the fear and cinicism to the next generation.

She doesn't want that for her daughters and for the children of others.

We want the best for our children.

We should be in a position in 2008, that our children can imagine the best future for themselves.

That's what I want for my girls!......but we aren't there yet. We want to be there, but we are not.

18. I like when she talks about her dad
and her neighborhood school. That just let's you know how much she's just like you. She's so terrific. I wish every young mom could hear her. I don't see how they couldn't be moved.

6. Is she gonna tell everyone again
how only Obama can heal their soul?

"Barack Obama is the ONLY person in this who understands that. That before we can work on the problems, we have to fix our souls. Our souls are broken in this nation."
February 15, 2008 - Michelle Obama's Vision of America

Pray for us Saint Obama

10. Beautiful photo of Michelle. Thanks. Nice to see a strong woman
who doesn't need her man to come to her job interview to get the job. Plus, she wears red better than some wear yellow.

and teach you not to be so catty towards
the way some women dress.

20. Sorry I haven't been struck dumb with the epiphany...
"that a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany ... and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Obama"

Barack Obama
Lebanon Opera House, New Hampshire. January 7, 2008.

And unless you can provide a link proving I
support someone who made that remark, you
have posted a blatant lie. Supporting Hillary
does not mean I support the actions and statements
of all of her supporters.

23.  That was a Hillary Pollster, i.e., employed by the campaign.....
and Hillary agreed that this was an "historical Fact".

“The Hispanic voter—and I want to say this very carefully—has not shown a lot of willingness or affinity to support black candidates.” —Clinton pollster Sergio Bendixen
http://www.rollingstone.com/nationalaffairs/index.php/2008/01/12/clinton-pollster-latinos-too-racist-to-vote-for-obama

Clinton at Root of Racist Stereotyping - Hispanics vs Blackswashingtonpost.com — Where did this come from? "Hispanics traditionally do not like Blacks." Since when? This is a racist, divisive falsehood that the Clinton Campaign has created and nurtured as a 'historical statement' in an attempt to pit the political arena against Obama. First mentioned by a Hillary pollster and then affirmed by Clinton herself. There is no proof.
http://www.digg.com/2008_us_elections/Clinton_at_Root_of_Racist_Stereotyping_Hispanics_vs_Blacks

A few weeks ago, Sergio Bendixen, a Clinton pollster and Hispanic expert, publicly articulated what campaign officials appear to have been whispering for months. In an interview with Ryan Lizza of The New Yorker, Bendixen explained that "the Hispanic voter - and I want to say this very carefully - has not shown a lot of willingness or affinity to support black candidates."

The spin worked. For the last several weeks, it's been on the airwaves (Tucker Carlson, "Hardball," NPR), generally tossed off as if it were conventional wisdom. And it has shown up in sources as far afield as Agence France-Presse and the London Daily Telegraph, which wrote about a "voting bloc traditionally reluctant to support black candidates."

The spin also helped shape the analysis of the Jan. 19 Nevada caucus, in which Clinton won the support of Hispanic voters by a margin of better than 2 to 1. Forget the possibility that Nevada's Hispanic voters may have actually preferred Clinton or, at the very least, had a fondness for her husband; pundits embraced the idea that Hispanic voters simply didn't like the fact that her opponent was black.

But was Bendixen's blanket statement true?

Far from it, and the evidence is overwhelming enough to make you wonder why in the world the Clinton campaign would want to portray Hispanic voters as too unrelentingly racist to vote for Barack Obama.

27. That does not prove I supported it.
I support Hillary. I am sure she
has some over zealous supporters working
for her just like Obama does. That does
not mean I approve or support what they
say and do. My support is for Hillary
based on her performance in her career.
The same argument about blanket statements
about race can be made about Michelle saying
'Black American will get it', and vote simply
along racial lines if for no other reason.
