My favorite thing about GD:P...
is the fact that if you write it in the body of your post, the way I wrote it in the title, it comes out looking like this...GD:P

Has anyone else noticed that? I think it's hysterical and very appropriate.

1. Ha, you're right! You have to check the box to turn off the emoticons
before you post if you want GD:P

3. It cracks me up.
But then, I'm easily amused.

I keep seeing it in posts-not a lot, but every now and then. It happened to me once and I thought I had made a mistake. Then I realized what happened and now, whenever I see it, I get a good chuckle out of it.

2. Off topic, but just had to say ...
... that is an incredible photo of JE in your sig line. Kudos to the photographer, whoever he/she is, for capturing that moment of thought and reflection that speaks volumes about the man.

4. It's an Annie Leibovitz photo.
It's great, isn't it? I said once that the Edwards campaign should sell it as a poster and they wouldn't have to worry about fundraising anymore. Here's a bigger version:

10. In 2004 when my son was 2 1/2 every time he'd see
Edwards on TV he'd run up and kiss the set and say "daddy" (my husband looks alot like him) I thought that this year he wouldn't be fooled, but the first few times he wanted to know why daddy was on the tv...He's got it figured out now, but it was really cute (and for some reason made my husband of 14 years a little sexier ;) )

12. "moment of thought and reflection"?
Maybe JE is thinking "I miss my dog" or "I hope my hair still looks good" :eyes:

I see a photo of a laid-back, well-dressed guy with blow-dried hair.

If it "speaks volumes about the man" - maybe I am missing something?

If you ask me what "speaks volumes" about John Edwards, I would say:

- his voting record in the US Senate
- his career path and financial investments
- evidence that he can also walk the walk
- has he been consistent on the big issues?

Seems to me like some folks are still aboard the Smooth Talk Express! ;-)

5. yes, and there are others
One tricky part is if you try to quote a Bible verse, like Proverbs 18 verse 7 "A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul" Proverbs 18:7

or verse 9

"He who is slothful in his work is a brother to him who is a great destroyer." Proverbs 18:9

then there are o and D, or :o and :D and perhaps others. If there was something for G, then you could write :G:D:P

8. Oh, those are good.
I particularly like Proverbs 18:9. It would be really funny if that was a proverb about gluttony.
