PPP Wisconsin Poll: Obama 53, Clinton 40
Public Policy Polling has it: Obama 53, Clinton 40
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/PPP_Wisconsin_Release_021808.pdf

That's not ARG either.

Ouch ... if this comes to fruition in Wisconsin I don't know how Hillary explains it.

Plagiarism-gate will go away for Obama as fast as question-planting-gate went away for Hillary.

All eyes will refocus and the stories out of Texas will be front and center stage.

If Obama makes it really close in Texas, or wins ... Hillary will be expected to drop out.

Thoughts?

2. I notice they carefully covered their asses with a "If we fucked up, oh WELL!" paragraph!
PPP surveyed 822 likely Democratic primary voters and 654 likely Republican primary
voters on February 16th and 17th. The survey’s margins of errors are +/- 3.4% and +/-
3.8% respectively. Other factors, such as refusal to be interviewed and weighting, may
introduce additional error that is more difficult to quantify.

26. No. But way to inject a bit of partisan vitriol into a very benign comment about a poll.
What DOES that say about you, Alexander?

16. Ah, that's normal.
It would be irresponsible not to include such a statement/disclaimer on any survey results.

4. Whoah.
If the Wisconsin margin turns out like that, and Obama is withing 5 points in either Texas or Ohio, we will be hearing more superdelegates switch, and uncommitted go to Obama. I assume that would put enormous pressure on Hillary to drop out.

I guess the delegate numbers would dictate what she would do. It would be a chance for her to rebuild her stature, that's for sure.

Here's what might happen: a group of SD's committed to her, that is large enough to put Obama over the top, might say to Hillary: "We are going to switch, but if you drop out, we won't announce it." They would be allowing her to drop out graciously, with her public pride intact.

14. I agree, if it does happen, it will happen like that -
but I think an alternative could be if she goes too negative, the superdelegates tell her to cut it out, she doesn't, and they defect publicly.

23. Yes, that could certainly happen.
And it could happen soon, if the SD's think it's over, and want to protect the nominee (Obama).

5. To the average American this looks like a replay of ALL of what
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 02:24 AM by 48percenter
was so distasteful from the 1990s. Edit to add: my mom, she's almost 67, LOVED the Big Dawg. But she cannot stand what she has seen in the past 3 months. She is working for Obama in PA and getting a great response out in the purple suburbs of Philly.

Hillary will soon be packing it up and packing it in.

20. Sorry - just joking.
Clinton supporters perennially complain about Obama's caucus wins.

I realize that WI is a primary - but if Obama wins (big) they cannot use that excuse again.

18. Sounds good...but let's not count our chickens until we see the result.
I'm all for being optimistic, but it's not a result until the actual voting tallies are announced this evening. There'll be plenty of time to celebrate later if Wisconsin favors Obama.
