Just words?

Well, yes, when you are repeating what someone else has said, they are, just words. All words are just words until backed with action. "A little less talk and a lot more action" is what we need from our politicians! They all use "just words" to win us over. It is the tool of their trade. The really great politicians use words to describe what they have done, not what they are promising.

I certainly don't hold anything Obama has said against him. All politicians quote famous speeches at one time or another. It seems, though, that every campaign has someone who scrutinizes everything said by an opponent to try to find something they can dig at him with. It really is an adolescent behavior, IMO.

It's going to take a lot more than "just words" to make the changes necessary in our government. It will take political skills that some politicians are to blind to see.......compromise. Pleasing half the population doesn't cut it. We have seen what that looks like the last seven years. In the nineties, everyone was pleased, workers, business owners, soldiers, investors, and citizens.

Virtually every sector of our government worked. A split congress controlled spending, crime was way down, income was up, employment was up, and we realized a peacetime where folks didn't watch the news to see how many were killed on that particular day.

We can? Yeah, well get back to me when you can say "We did!"

Fired up and ready to go? Yeah, well get going!

They are just words. To plaguerize another saying, "Where's the beef?"
