you remember, of course, Jasmine Trias - the local Hawai'i gal who swept Hawai'i in American Idol a few years ago. most of the state went gaga over her.

my husband's uncle lives in Hawai'i and he says all the buzz is Obama and that he (the uncle) would be voting for the local guy.

3. Some others here have friends and family

on the Hawaiian Islands, too and they've said similiar things..like my son on Kauai said, "Hawaiians like Local". I lived there for 6 years and this totally resonated. I said, "I know Senator Inouye endorsed hilary" Tim said, all the politicians here are kissy ass."! That's my son..the perceptive one. B-)
