Here in GD:P, how many posts do you "Alert" a day? I am curious how many posts you feel warrant alerting.

17. I've never alerted anything...

People have a right to write whatever they want. I have the ability to hide threads or ignoor posters that I don't agree with.

It's not my job to to censor anything from anyone elses view. People can choose to agree with or disagree with whatever they want..

We're all adults here - do we really need "tattle tales" running to mom & dad everytime we read something we don't like?

31. I used to have pretty much the same opinion, until I became a mod.

I could count the number of times I'd alerted on one hand, only the most egregious disruptive posts. I'm a liberal and believe in free speech as much as the next person. Everybody's entitled to an opinion, and diversity and tolerance are some of the best things about this board. But things can really get out of hand here, especially during primary season and when controversial news breaks (not to mention April Fool's Day... :eyes:), and the mods work really hard to keep this board running smoothly and calm the waters.:-)

19. Three things really bug me:

First, when someone uses **BREAKING!!: for a fictitious post.

Second, when someone accuses a fellow DUer of being unAmerican because they support a particular Democratic candidate.

Third, when someone tries to draw parallels between a Democratic candidate and members of the current, evil Bush administration.

20. I've never done it...

They pretty much warn you to suit up in this forum, and I've gotten frustrated, but I pretty much disagree with censorship. People feel like they feel. Candidates should be vetted thoroughly.

This ain't a coronation. Both of them are going to have to fight for it.

Of course, I gotta say (and this is just mho) I think the writing might be on the wall for HRC. If Texas has an open primary, and the repubs already know who their candidate is gonna be, it's pretty clear to see....

27. Less than one a day or never - although I have alerted on a blatant post accusing another DUer of

being a Republican troll. The Clinton supporters have gotten very good at accusing those they don't like of being Republicans in disguise in a subtle enough way that it doesn't get their posts deleted - somehow that kind of "cleverness" seems to be the apex of their intellectual acumen.

30. The mods can tell the difference, especially if they receive an "alert."

Things are always pretty crazy here during the primaries, everybody believing that their candidate is the one and only... I was here for the last primary season. But things will calm down after we have a nominee, or at least I hope so... :crazy:
