Call to action re MSNBC Matthews using Fox tactics
Text of email to MSNBC "editor".

Yesterday I defended as an accident the display of Osama bin Laden's picture when Matthews was talking about Barack Obama, but today when Matthews ran the clip of Mrs. Obama speaking of having pride in her country again, I can find no defense for the use of a clip that had obviously been edited to change the meaning by removing the word /really/.
Whether it is ineptitude or a deliberate tactic of propaganda no longer matters, it needs to stop. It is an unconscionable failure to perform your responsibilities.

1. no excuse for the obl/obama thing EVER in a news room. even if the first time was
an "accident", this has happened more than once. just like listing a "d" after certain repukes' names ==you know, the ones being accused of bribery, sodomy, etc

2. Jeez, even Rush Limbaugh was honest enough to use the "really proud" version.

6. How about when the struggle in Ireland was resolved? That gave
everyone a lump in their throats.

There are many other things she could have been REALLY proud of. How about when she read in history class about the accomplishments of some of our presidents, ref. Lincoln and JFK for openers.

She has foot in mouth disease and no amount of rationalizing will fix this one.

9. You know, she is just his wife--not a politician. Remember Hillary pissing off everyone with
the Tammy Wynette baking-cookies comment? That comment didn't bother me. This one didn't either. All First Lady candidates will pop off with statements that can be used as ammo and cause a trumped-up fuss. That's the way it goes.

12. To which struggle do you refer?
If you are referencing the UK, the Republic, the Catholics, the Protestants, I can assure you, that is far from "resolved". Headlines don't EVER give a true voice to the underlying sentiment here. But if you are referring to the ban on smoking inside pubs, now THAT did give me a lump in my throat!

UK out - a United Ireland!

10. GE told Tweety to attack Hillary when her delegates were up. Now he attacks Obama's when his are up.
I pointed out in journal after journal during Tweety's "Hillary is a she-devil" phase (which went on for quite a while) that he would change his tune, because it was nothing personal, and eventually he would begin attacking Obama. None of the Obama supporters could be bothered to do anything about what was being done to Edwards or to Hillary or even do anything in advance for what was going to be done to their own candidate. I feel your pain, but you guys need to take some responsibility. You can not use the corporate media when it is being biased and naughty for your own good. That is morally the same as Germans smiling when they rounded up the Jews because it meant less competition for their own businesses then going boo hoo when there was no one to defend them when they started rounding up certain German groups. Solidarity is important for a reason. And you were warned that this was coming, Go back and look in my journals.

The Republican game plan has been "Brokered Democratic Convention. " That means keep Hillary and Obama neck and neck. You guy had the audacity of hope to pull ahead and now GE/NBC will be targeting him until Hillary wins a few.

I will keep protesting media bias whereever I find it. Thanks for the heads up. I will sure to catch Hardball tonight and write about it.

13. Thanks for the support but
You are making a lot of assumptions. In the first place, I supported Edwards until he dropped out. I, too, was incensed by the MSM drive to exclude him as a candidate. However, that action was widespread and wasn't limited to a single show or network. In fact, MSNBC was, because of KO, the least culpable in this regard.

I also question the accuracy of your conclusion that this is being directed by higher ups. I think there is just as much evidence to support the hypothesis that it is based on biases at the producer/staff level. I don't say that is totally the case, but I think your categorical assertion carries your beliefs too far. Your certainty regarding an uncertain proposition makes me uncomfortable.

I think we do agree on one thing for sure, all the news outlets need to improve their election coverage.

Thanks for the dialogue.

14. I am sorry, isn't interferring with "freedom of the press" Nixonian?
No, I won't give Tweety and MSGOP any free pass, but it's a bit nervy after the answers to this:
Why are the people who brought us Bush pushing Obama? Obama supporters - please answer me

MSM is after a good story (unseating of inevitable choice)
MSM is actually impressed with Obama
MSM wants to kiss ass of the next president
MSM - they're human! maybe they want to stop being evil already
Both parties do it
They hate Clinton
Ted Kennedy!
Who cares what they're doing?
It's not true - what planet are you getting your news from?

I watched half of Tucker and all of Hardball.

I document it here.

It is one of the worst things that MSNBC and Pat Buchanan have done yet. They are dirty CREEPY rat finks.

Thanks for letting me know that they were doing this so I could watch. They are some evil bastards over there. And that Nora O'Donnell is a nasty piece of work.

The moral is always call out the corporate media when they are putting out anti-dem propaganda.

19. What do expect. Obama has benefited from MSNBC bias for months.
I am glad he is getting some of the negative coverage for a change. I may have to start watching NBC again. Keep me posted.
