Barack Obama for President
There comes a time when a leader is called upon to serve. There are examples of this throughout our nation’s proud political history, when courageous leaders seized the moment that suited their political assets and capabilities.

This moment calls out loudly and clearly for Barack Obama.

Since being thrust into the spotlight at the 2004 Democratic National Convention after giving a compelling speech that was well received by a huge chunk of America, people began to notice Barack Obama. Here was a man that appeared to be “real deal” as he inspired legions and gained a countless number of fans who began to call on him to run for the presidency.

Obama has dedicated his life to public service. From his time as a constitutional lawyer, to working as a law professor, to serving in the Illinois Senate, and finally, in the U.S. Senate, Obama has committed his life to making the country a better place. His accomplishments already reflect what someone would hope to achieve in a lifetime.

While Obama served in the Illinois State Legislature from 1996 to 2004, he worked on issues ranging from ethics reform to health care for low-income families. He was known for his ability to work with Republicans and Democrats on important legislative matters. The Columbia and Harvard educated Obama would take his cause to the U.S. Senate where he was elected overwhelmingly in a race against another African-American presidential candidate, Alan Keyes.

Hillary Clinton and John McCain have been involved with Washington politics for far many years. Having them occupy the White House will give the American people the status quo. There will be nothing but false hope for hundreds of millions of American citizens. Obama realizes the next president will have to regain the trust of the American people and attempt to shine a better light on the country’s image to the world. Barack Obama cares about people, he is not looking out for lobbyists and special interests that other candidates are sure to make favors to once they get in the White House.

Many people attempt to make the point that Obama is inexperienced, too young, not a Washington veteran, etc.; however, I think those are precisely the reasons why Obama is the right man for job. There was an “inexperienced” one-term Congressman from the state of Illinois who was elected president in 1860, and Abraham Lincoln was one of our greatest presidents. Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton were also Washington outsiders before their presidencies. Both had success being uniters and running the nation.

Being elected president in not about military service and medals, it is not about who has the most money, it is not about your years of service in the Beltway. Being the President of the United State is about understanding the hopes and dreams of 300 million people and what you can do to stand up and fight for what is right for the American people.

We have serious problems to solve and we need serious people to solve them. The issues of immigration, health care, social security, education, etc. are not going to fix themselves. Barack Obama has plans that make sense and are economical for the country. The time for a new America is now. We are at a crossroads in the countries history that could change the future of the world. The present generation will face the brunt of the nation’s problems if order is not restored in Washington and we don’t put someone in the White House that understands the challenges ahead. Barack Obama is someone who understands our problems, he understands the pain people go through everyday in this country and he understands how to fix them.

No matter your race, no matter your income, no matter your religion, I encourage you to join in and vote for Barack Obama in the Ohio presidential primary on March 4 and again on Election Day in November. Take a stand and fight your rights and beliefs. If you don’t, no one will.
