do try and remember that. You are now attacking Hillary for obeying FEC regulations?

7. this one is better.
"I don't know how anyone who reads this can feel comfortable with Clinton running our country. Between the money, the internal fighting, ect., this is not a well run campaign. When you concider she had all the advantages from establishment support to her husbands connections and political machine and tons of money and it was totally mismanaged. Just like Obama took his money and built a much admired organization and network with small donors of average people and has managed this operation very well. If you want to know who is actually the most capable and able and has the executive skills, you look to Obama."

15. She'll try to keep suckering her supporters into sending in money
so she can collect enough to pay off her debts (and pay herself back) before she admits defeat. It will be interesting to see if she starts going on the cheap in Texas/Ohio.

29. Here's a little secret.
Hillary is going to spend everything in Ohio and Texas. That means that she will likely ignore VT and RI. Obama might be able to run up the score again in those two states.

39. She's given up on Vermont
Obama has 7 paid staff here. Hillary? No one, as far as I can make out. Pat and Marcelle Leahy have made an ad for him. As I don't do TV, I'm not sure about Hill. Oh, and B&J are touring the state and giving out free ice cream to bribe us into voting for Obama. I doubt she gets even 35% here.

Edited on Thu Feb-21-08 12:44 AM by Kermit77
I think she knows her campaign is coming to an end and she doesn't want to end it in debt. She is hanging in just to get enough contributions to pay off her bills.

Remember she paid Tom Vilsack's campaign debts when he endorsed her. Who will pay her campaign debts if she drops out now? Barack?

Maybe the Obama campaign should offer her a deal. Drop out now and we will pay some of your debt.

It's a pretty piss-poor arrangement for her, too, having to pay his company instead of just having him on the campaign payroll. You know there's a ton of overhead and wastage there.

holes can be poked in what running a "campaign" means, but this is a couple $100 million dollar organization we're talking about...

36. indeed
all the candidates, mostly senators who are not used to being a leader, have to run an organization with thousands of members, tens of thousands of volunteers, and hundreds of millions of dollars.

as a senator, you have a staff, but it's not the same. you're not managing cash flow, budgets, paying bills, and making important decisions on where to invest millions of dollars to achieve the best result

and using the leftovers to actually campaign with. A large portion of her expenses are advisor's salaries. She doesn't seem to be getting her moneys worth.

26. John Kerry's loan was a bank loan, and the campaign paid interest to the bank.
Hillary Clinton's $5 million loan to her campaign won't be a total loss for the candidate.

Campaign finance documents filed today show that she's charging her campaign an interest rate of 1.26%.

It's a modest rate which means that -- if she pays herself back with donor contributions -- she still would have been better off putting her money in a savings account at a commercial bank.

Clinton's loan has not, however, been paid back.
