When was the last time we had an inspirational president?
A few people that I know, I guess, would say Reagan, but Reagan never inspired me. He only depressed me, with his class warfare, and false tales of "welfare queens," driving around in pink Cadillacs.

And most of the people that say Reagan was so great only say that because that's what they've been told to think by the heads talking on the TV.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a president that you actually looked forward to hearing from? A president that you didn't curse for interrupting Boston Legal or Monday Night Football?

A president that you liked at least as much as you like Olbermann?

A president that made you genuinely optimistic about the future of our country and the world?

Wouldn't it be nice to have a president that made you feel like you could take an active role in helping to make the world a better, fairer, more peaceful place?

Wouldn't it?

2. And it won't happen again in my lifetime, since the MSM destroyed Edwards' campaign.

8. Most people did NOT find Edwards inspirational. Sorry.
I certainly did not. Edwards was a pedestrian Senator who stood for nothing and a second rate VP nominee. His dillying and dallying about an endorsement was par for the course. We'll see what his third act is, but if wants to inspirational, he needs to actually do something.

13. JFK I saw him and shook his hand
Jackie was pregnant at that time looking very beautiful. He was tall, handsome and charismatic. The thrill of my lifetime before the huge crowds prevented such a thing. No secret service that I could see.

3. Carter was inspirational
After Nixon/Ford, he was a breath of fresh air. Much more inspiring that Jerry's Whip Inflation Now (WIN) buttons. His walk down Pennsylvania Ave. on Inauguration Day was a welcome change.

The problem was that America didn't want the change he inspired. The Panama Canal treaty could have inspired a change in US foreign policy, one of LESS overseas military involvement, but it was painted by the conservatives as giving something away (something we had no right to, by the way). America didn't want to wear a sweater and conserve energy, they wanted to keep the oil taps wide open, so here we are 30 years later with an energy policy that is a big secret between Dick and his buddies.

Rag on him all you want, I think Jimmy was inspirational. At least he showed us how to smile again after scowling Tricky Dick. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

To our great misfortune, someone decided they couldn't stand the excellence of General Wes Clark, so we're lost.

'a president that you actually looked forward to hearing from'

I don't know why lines are drawn through this post. Not MY intention. E

7. Surely you jest ... pro-apartheid Reagan? How old are you?
Mandela would have been released 1 decade sooner if Reagan hadn't decared him a "terrorist" and applied sanctions on South Africa like the rest of the world.
I ask again how old are you? Have you ever travelled outside the USA?
Let me guess you are white, straight, and were a child during the Reagan years...am I right?
