Hillary Rodham Clinton has not won a nominating contest since Super Tuesday, more than two weeks ago.

2. That's awesome. Obama won 65-32
Edited on Thu Feb-21-08 09:30 AM by Bleachers7
"Barack Obama – 65 percent, Hillary Clinton – 32 percent, with the rest of the candidates pulling in less than 1 percent of the vote each."

That shuold be 9-5 in delegates.

4. That's an under-reported, but important, race.
Why?

American expats are in a unique position to view our politics through a larger prism.

8. Unfortunately only 2.5 go to Obama and 2 go to Clinton
Edited on Thu Feb-21-08 09:40 AM by 48percenter
As usual, leave it to the Democrats to make things way too complicated, from DA Press release:

"These results determine the allocation of 4.5 delegate votes at the Democratic National Convention. Senator Obama won 2.5 delegate votes, and Senator Clinton 2 delegate votes. A further 2.5 votes will be determined at the Democrats Abroad Global Convention in April. In addition, Democrats Abroad holds 4 superdelegate votes. A total of 22 delegates, each with a half vote, will attend the Convention.

29. Dems abroad can vote in one of 2 ways...
Either absentee, with a ballot mailed from the States
or
As a "Dem abroad"

Regular absentee votes would be treated along with other absentee votes--voting the second way allows for the awarding of delegates.

Someone wins by almost 2:1 margin and they get an extra .5 delegates?

I will never even try to understand how the Democrats apportion things :eyes:

"your name on the ballot... well here's a delegate for YOU!"

38. A tie in Bosnia

A tie in Bosnia

A reader points out that Democrats Abroad has shared its vote totals which, while representative only of the Democratic-leaning expats in those countries, are still mildly interesting.

Obama won Mexco 57% to 40%; Canada 63% to 36%; Japan 79 18, and France 72% to 27%. He won most European countries by 2-1 margins.

Clinton, for her part, scored a big victory in the Dominican Republican -- 90% to 10% -- and a narrower one in Israel -- 54% to 45%.

Smaller countries are also included: He won 2 votes to 0 in Lithuania; she won by the same margin in Malta.

And as far as Clinton-era flashpoints go, Obama won Rwanda 6 to 0, she won Somalia 1 to 0, and they tied Bosnia 1 to 1.
