Obama supporters have been relatively civil today
Is it because of the lunar eclipse? Are you trying to trick me?

Being nice to me because you know my vote will decide the democratic party nominee in the March 11th Mississippi state primary? Keep it up.

5. I find this type of commentary by Hillary supporters to be amusing.
In my time on DU over the last few months, I find that the majority of hateful, deceptive, untruthful and vehemently nasty posts are coming from the HRC camp by and large.

I don't appreciate the distortion. Its going on here on a small scale, but on a much larger scale when you examine the rhetoric that the HRC campaign and her surrogates have put out over the "airwaves" regarding the alleged actions of Obama the Obama campaign and the enthusiasm of his supporters.

14. I have been
a Wesley Clark supporter since before 2004 and continue to be. I don't know who I will vote for in two weeks. My post is not a distortion. Obama supporters pounce at anything that is not absolute praise for their candidate. Some call it enthusiasm. Others refer to it as incivility.

To suggest that I am a Hillary support is amusing.

36. Our viewpoints are subjective
For every one obnoxious Clinton supporter posting I have read the works of many more Obama supporters. I certainly hope that the Senator from Illinois is ashamed of those who support him so vehemently on DU. I'm not impressed, rather disenchanted. I hope the assholes who claim the upper road by supporting him are not a reflection on the man or his possible administration.

26. "hateful, deceptive, untruthful and vehemently nasty"
I was for Edwards. I'd log in to DU, day after day, and I'd see so much hatred, and dishonesty, and sexism, and ugliness from Obama's followers, that I started to dislike Obama for it.

After Edwards dropped out, I actually spent some time considering pulling for Hillary. It would be stupid to support her: 1) she's too hawkish, she's not progressive enough; 2) the media dislikes her enough that she won't stand a chance in the general election; and 3) even if she did get elected, her communication is so detail-oriented that she won't be able to convince anyone to support her policies.

I decided to support Obama. He's a progressive who can win the presidency, and once he's won it, he can get things accomplished. Good things.

However, my observation is that about 75% of the vitriol and about 90% of the dishonesty on DU has come from Obama supporters. He can do no wrong, don'tcha know.

May I suggest they look in the mirror. Because their actions are alienating at worst. Many Obama supporters are arrogant punks, New England Patriot Fans if you will. Hopefully his supporters on DU are not a true reflection of the candidate.

43. It's not just me, then.
I have an elderly neighbor who went to a political forum at a nearby college. One of the Anointed One's idiot supporters actually called her an "OLD HAG" because she was trying to get answers from his BOOSTERS about elder services and assorted "geezer issues." The kid couldn't answer, she kept pressing, and that is what she eventually got out of the little shithead for an answer.

A couple of other older folks around her started hollering at the kid, and over came a professor that was one of the hosts for the event to try to patch things up, but the damage was done.

She came home bullshit and shaking with rage. She told me "If Hillary doesn't win, I'm voting for that bastard McCain!" She's also changing her registration to independent if HRC doesn't prevail. And she's been a Democrat for a half century and then some. She's not an asshole either, I shlep her and others to the polls on election days.

They're just very...alienating. That IS the word.

29. The remains of the day.....

From a distance, you could tell that the wreckage was that of a submarine. Once on board, you could see that everything but the engine blocks had been stripped away. The forward and after rooms were destroyed. But I found several rollers, still free to turn, on a torpedo rack.

The boat had major damage caused by demolition charges and deck guns from other US submarines. You could see the trenches caused by the submarines Dace (SS-247) and Rock (SS-274). They both fired several torpedoes at her. The pot holes caused by explosions were visible in the coral reef.

Many of the Perch crew went aboard her. A lot of photos were taken. The water around Darter was only three to four feet deep.

It was a real thrill to go on board the Darter as she is part of the history of the Submarine Force. In tribute, I left a Perch plaque attached to the remains of the main induction valve prior to leaving the site.

&p=USS+DARTER&type=jpeg&no=2&tt=41&oid=b6f54071d85be62c&ei=UTF-8

The successor to the DARTER had issues, too--quite a few fender benders in her career...but that's a story for another day.

15. Given how close it is this year - it MAY come down to Mississippi
Bet you never thought that you could be voting where it has not yet been settled. Though in reality, in 1992, Bill Clinton did not have the needed delegates until June - though he was front runner way before that. (2000 and 2004 were atypical in one non-incumbent candidate having the lead from beginning to end)

Wait until the debate. They'll either not watch, or get footstompingly obnoxious throughout, finding "unfair" commentary every ten or fifteen minutes.

I came to this party late (not the Dem party, the DU party) and did not realize how much damage had been done by both sides.

Today I was accused of flame baiting, still dont have an explaination from the mods how my post was flame baiting. However I managed to piss someone off

However, my first couple of days back on DU I found myself dishing out double the vitriol I was hit with. Then I discovered the ignore button...it's been, and I've been, a lot nicer ever since.
