I m tired of hearing this lie about Hillary saying that Obama
was "All hat and no cattle."

I watched that speech on TV and she was referring to George Bush and SAID SO LOUDLY AND CLEARLY.

Why are all of you lying about this? I'm disgusted.

BTW, I have posted this at least twice. You just don't want to listen, do you. She answered him tonight and said that was about George Bush. I heard it people.

2. I always thought she was referring to Bush - what made people think she
was ever referring to Obama?

not ready "on day one," either, even though she clearly implied THAT, too, in all her speeches.

15. No, you are wrong. She said it about Bush. I heard the speech.
Do you want to link me to where she said that about Obama. Either do that or do your part to stop this lying. You should be ashamed.

BTW, I don't believe he would be ready on day one either. Certainly without a hell of a lot of help. Say, "Light on Experience" softly to yourself. And, what has that to do with the lie you're helping to perpetuate?

5. apparently they haven't seen the speech
or even just a few minutes before and after that line. If they had, they would know that she was talking about Bush. They'll find any reason to bash her and cry foul.

...Hillary Clinton was referring to Obama when she was referring to Bush.

Blame Maureen Dowd for this lie.

18. And she will shit on Obama, too. Obama supporters should pay heed.
Mo Dowd was once a cogent, perceptive pundit. Nowadays, she's angry and bitter.

About what, who can say?

It seemed like an odd thing for Hillary to say about Obama. Thank you for clearing it up.

13. I know. It was after reading this that I posted on here that I had
heard the speech and that it was Bush she named, not Obama. I have posted already a couple of times trying to clear this up. I saw it repeated on Lou Dobbs tonight and at the debate. I couldn't believe it.

We need to stop perpetuating this lie.

12. As a former Texan I recall Ann Richards saying it about GWB
....
Texans have a phrase "All hat and no cattle." This phrase applies to pretend cowboys that dress and talk the part, pretending to be what they aren't.

I once heard Ann Richards describe her opponent in the Texas Governor's race as All Hat No Cattle. Her opponent was George W. Bush.

one of mine, too. Another one I really enjoyed voting for was McCain in the 2000 primary. Loved voting against Bush* in his "home" state, even though the contest for the nomination was all but over. As I recall, Gore had it won by Texas on my side of the aisle so it was just some tasty symbolism.

edit - Gore, not Clinton

23. Are you sure it was the card or just living in Texas?
I hope you kept the card, to remind yourself how dangerously close you came to the dark side. Heh.

I love the folks of Texas, but had to get to the mountains and the snowy climate, so here I am in Oregon. :)

25. I thought it was a knock on Obama at the time, I said so at the time, and I praised her
for such a brilliant line. Seriously, that was a perfect political attack--pointed, directed, but perfectly innocuous. She should have done more like that.

26. well when you got obama folks that take the word of anyone
and does not search for themselves the correct anser then we are in for another george w bush if obama wins the nomination and G-d help us if he is president....

The all hat no cattle was what hrc has said time and time again about bush but that mediawhore maureen dowd said that hrc said that about obama...which was false:

"Let’s be frank: The New York Times op-ed page is an intellectual sewer. Yesterday,
Maureen Dowd was at it again. She lodged this hiss-spitting claim against her favorite target:
“Hillary says Obama is ‘all hat and no cattle.’”

Here’s what Clinton actually said:

FOUHY (2/13/08): She criticized Bush, the former Texas governor.

"There's a great saying in Texas," she said, "all hat and no cattle.
Well after seven years of George W. Bush, we need a lot less hat and a lot more cattle.”

Huh! She had criticized Bush—but Obama worked better.
So the Times let their crazy girl type it."

Now that is truth
