Hillary Debate Closer Plagiarized John Edwards
Poor Hillary Clinton. As she watches her campaign fade into oblivion she keeps trying to find something to throw at Barack Obama that will stick. Like her recent, ridiculous charge that Barack Obama is guilty of plagiarism. Of course, this too failed to have any traction.

In last night's Democratic debate, Hillary Clinton used a warm and fuzzy closer that was greeted with a standing ovation by the audience. Naturally, Hillary's supporters are cheering her performance and they hope the reaction of the audience means her campaign is back on track.

There's only one problem: Hillary plagiarized John Edwards. Oops!

Clinton Last Night: "You know, whatever happens, we're going to be fine. You know, we have strong support from our families and our friends. I just hope that we'll be able to say the same thing about the American people. And that's what this election should be about." - Democratic Debate, 2/21/07

John Edwards: "What's not at stake are any of us. All of us are going to be just fine no matter what happens in this election. But what's at stake is whether America is going to be fine." - Democratic Debate, 12/13/07

John Edwards: "I want to say this to everyone: with Elizabeth, with my family, with my friends, with all of you and all of your support, this son of a millworker's gonna be just fine. Our job now is to make certain that America will be fine." - Edwards Speech, 1/30/08

The real losers in her fraud are we Americans. I can't help but wonder what chance another candidate might have had without Hillarious in the lime light.

:puke:

I don't feel sorry for her, as it was a calculated maneuver. She will do "whatever it takes."

15. that didn't even make sense.
Educate yourself. It's sad to see you going on about something you haven't a clue about. It was two separate statements. Of course, it's not really plagiarism anymore than what Obama said was plagiarism, but it's the hypocrisy that's tripping her up.

Pitiful is the bitterness and lack of grace some of the Hillary supporters here are exhibiting as Hillary torpedos her own candidacy.

11. No.
and she brought it on herself. And the media has picked up on it. She failed to do any damage last night. Her campaign is in disarray and she's running out of money. She's just about out of time and out of last chances.

Edited on Fri Feb-22-08 08:13 AM by AlertLurker
Bear in mind, every time you see the word "(Response)" during this speech, what you hear from the WHOLE audience is "YES WE CAN!"

"We are the party of Lyndon Johnson and the Great Society. We are the party of John F. Kennedy and the New Frontier. We are the party of FDR and the New Deal. We are the party of the people. We are the party whose president faced a broken nation--a nation of people without jobs, without homes, without health care, without retirement security--and he exhorted our people to have courage. Seventy years ago, FDR stood before a fearful nation and said, We have nothing to fear but fear itself. And he ignited a nation to reaching its promise and that brought almost a hundred new Democrats into the House. It enabled a sweeping mandate to bring deep, transformational change to our social, our political, and our economic structures.

It remade a government of the people and for the people. That kind of change is needed today. We can empower a new beginning.

Democrats, I remind you that we have nothing to fear but fear itself. We need a new faith in America and in ourselves. Faith that we can change the present condition; faith that we can change the outcome; faith that we can regain the confidence, the optimism, the whole world has identified with America; faith that it is the Democratic party that can once again lead the way to a better day, to a better America, to a better world.

Democrats, Democrats can move this country forward from a condition where of 8 million people out of work to a full employment economy with a living wage for all. If you believe our party can do that, let us tell this nation yes we can. (scattered response "Yes we can.").

...

Democrats can move this country forward from 40 million people without health insurance to a single payer system which provides quality health care for all. Do you believe we can do that? (Response).

Yes we can. Si se puede.

Democrats can move this country forward from underfunded schools, underpaid teachers, and undereducated youths to making education our top funding priority and providing free college education for all. Do you believe we can do that? (Response).

Democrats can move this country forward from a condition where our air, our water and our land is now being ruined
by multinational corporate interests; where we can demonstrate that environmental protection is our path to sustaining the life of the planet. Do you believe we can do this as a party? (Response).

Yes we can. Si se puede.

We cannot expect candidates to only use 100% original ideas all the time.
